The smooth Polartec Power Grid fabric's brushed-grid backing traps heat to maximize warmth without adding bulk and pulls sweat away from your skin to keep you dry. Great for late winter skiing

I was perfectly comfortable (and totally dry!) skiing in just this plus an insulated orage coat in the 30-40 degree skiing days. The days it was colder or had a bit more wind, I added a quarter zip fleece over this. Definitely preferred this to the lightweight version for skiing - that felt way to thin.

      Does not fit well

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: Runs large
      • Size Bought: small

A midweight baselayer should fit almost next to skin for more adequate moisture management, and for temperature regulation. When I want to buy a midweight baselayer it is for colder temps, such as 40s at night. Generally, in these colder temps you would like to restrict air circulation around your body to maintain adequate core temperature. This baselayer fits loose, boxy, and the sleeves are too short for a 5'8" female with a skinny, athletic, build. I would not be able to fit this top into my current layering system due to its loose nature because the baselayer would bunch under my fleece. As a standalone shirt, this could be nice because bagginess might not matter so much to you. However, I would seriously question its ability to maintain your body's warmth.

      Warm and comfy!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Small

Got these as a gift for my girlfriend and here is what she has to say:
The fit is loose and comfortable, the material is nice, and it definitely functions well for a base layer on those cold days!

      Great Base layer and Versatile

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Medium

I wear this long sleeve as a base layer during winter months and during the summer I often use it hiking at high elevations. Great at wicking away moisture. I have complete range of motion while wearing it. Not the softest shirt I've owned, but still very comfortable and a great technical piece. Fits true to size and is great for a wide range of activities.

      Great little mid layer

Got this for my wife to wear on a trip to the Tetons. She opened it, said it felt a little itchy, and refused to pack it. I made her bring it. Once there she wore it every day for a week for hikes as her mid layer down to the 30s and 40s. She later said " thank god you made me bring that" (a common theme on our trips). Then she said "get me another one" on the flight back. We layered t-shirt, this mid layer, fleece, and rain shell, and it worked great as temps started in the 30s with rain, and hit 70s by late day. Kept her quite comfortable as we mixed up the layers depending on the conditions. She's more used to cotton, and for the record I don't think it's itchy feeling at all. Neither does she now.

        Comfortable

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
        • Fit: True to size
        • Size Bought: XL

I bought the XL and it has room for me. I do not like tight fitting clothes. I am not a thin person.
I have tried other brands of base layer and the quality was not good and the fit not as comfortable. I have not worn it long enough to see if it is long lasting however just trying it on I do not see a problem.

Perfect to use as a top or baselayer

        • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
        • Fit: True to size
        • Size Bought: M

Gave this as a gift, but it looked great on the recipient. The material is very breathable and looks like it would hold up well as a performance baselayer. It also has particularly notable thumb holes that are loops rather than the typical hole cut into a sleeve. This design prevents the cuff from riding too high on the palm and getting in the way.

Medium fits well on a 6'2" and skinny.
