Why We Like The Moab 3 Mid Waterproof Hiking Boot

No matter if the forecast calls for rainshowers or sunny skies, the Merrell Moab 3 Mid Waterproof Hiking Boot always gives us the traction, comfort, and protection we need as we navigate rough terrain. Like its predecessor, the Moab 3 is equipped with a waterproof and breathable membrane to keep our feet well defended against accidental puddle slips or light moisture. Plus, we appreciate that the Vibram TC5+ outsole provides unencumbered traction underfoot thanks to its 5mm lugs and multi-directional design.

great foot wear

they have become my everyday wear shoe's, comfortable, good looking, and to be truthful, they remind me of when i was in afghanistan. I had a pair that i wore everywhere with and without being geared up. Still a great shoe. thanks.

Stitching failed

Loved these boots, however, the eyelet that holds the shoe laces on both the right, and left boot ripped out within less than a year. Very comfortable boot, but disappointed that these lasted for less then a year with only occasional use.

Best shoes of all

I bought these shoes (ankle hiking boots) a year ago. No fooling, these are the best shoes, of ANY SHOES, I have EVER OWNED. You think I’m jerking your chain, I know. I’m totally serious. I’m 76 years old, and very active in Florida and LA. I’ve beat the hell out of them. I’ve flown (every other month) a lot in them. I walk in them, everyday. They’re wide enough to be comfortable in planes (swollen feet) and in heat, rain (Florida), to the weather in La La Land. AND they’re now cheaper than what I paid for them. The one eye, single hook at the top allows for very quick on and off. Excellent when rushing at TSA at Airports. If I wasn’t so cheap, I’d get another pair for each coast. I’d wear them in combat…….Bob

Not sure if these are waterproof as stated

My wife purchased these for me, Moab 3 Mid Waterproof. for spring, summer and fall 3D archery bow courses at the Air Force Academy, we hike 3-5 miles each outing. I've worn these 5 times, day before yesterday it rained, next morning, sunny, we hiked the course walking thru dew, by the end of the morning my toes were soaking wet, no puddles of water anywhere. These state they are waterproof, if I were to wear these late fall when it may snow, I feel frostbite may be an issue. These hikers have great traction up steep climbs and hold well in loose dirt descending, a great summer shoe where there's NO water anywhere. My wife is contacting customer service today, I want to exchange these for waterproof Gor Tex model, we will see what service Merrell has.

Horrible breathability caused painful blisters

I bought these a good two months ago in an official merrell shop in Medellin with the idea of hiking in them in Peru and the rest of my trip through South America. They run super hot, don’t breathe at all and caused blisters because of this. Absolutely don’t recommend these. This is the first time I’m this discontent with a shoe. Finding new shoes here in the middle of Peru is super difficult so at the moment I’m stuck with them.
