Men's Button-Down Short-Sleeve Shirts

Linen and hemp shirts work best in hot, humid conditions because they’re lightweight and breathable, making them ideal for beach outings or backyard gatherings. Models like the Wellen Easy Linen Short Sleeve Shirt use an airy weave that helps keep you comfortable in high humidity.

A slim-fit button-down should fit closer to the torso with sleeves ending around mid-bicep, giving a modern silhouette without excess fabric. For untucked wear the front hem typically hits around mid-thigh and the back around mid-butt so it sits a couple inches below your top button of shorts or pants.

Performance quick-dry shirts are designed for activity, with moisture-wicking fabrics that dry faster during long hikes or sweaty summer outings. The Howler Brothers Crosscut Deluxe Shirt is an example built for outdoor versatility, offering durable construction and breathability for warm, active days.

Camp-collar shirts give a relaxed, open-neck look that feels breezy and pairs well with shorts or layered over a tee, while western shirts often have a more structured yoke and tactile fabrics for a casual, vintage vibe. The Taylor Stitch Linen Western Shirt, for example, brings a textured summer feel that reads a bit dressier than a simple camp-collar option.

A good rule is to have about 5–10% spandex or stretch content in the fabric to allow comfortable movement without losing the shirt’s shape. Stretch fabrics work well in performance and slim-fit styles, giving added mobility for activities while keeping a tailored silhouette.
