Men's Performance Shorts

For faster running and HIIT, a 3–5 inch inseam maximizes mobility; a 5–7 inch inseam gives more coverage for training or casual wear. Also consider an elastic waistband and stretch panels if you need extra security and range of motion.

Built-in mesh liners are helpful for long runs and treadmill sessions because they reduce chafe and add light support. Budget 2-in-1 options like the CRZ Yoga 2-In-1 combine a liner with a quick-dry outer short for sweat management and comfort.

Training shorts with 5–7 inch inseams and stretch panels are designed for functional movement during CrossFit and lifting. Look for reinforced construction and secure pockets so your phone or chalk stays put through circuits.

Lightweight mesh and quick-dry wovens boost airflow and dry faster after intense efforts, and ventilated Dri-Power panels add targeted ventilation. Many models include moisture-wicking tech—about 68% have moisture-wicking ratings—to help manage sweat on long workouts, and athleisure pieces like the Vuori Sunday Performance Short favor breathable, soft fabrics.

Shorts cut for big thighs use wider leg openings and roomier geometry to prevent riding up while maintaining mobility. If you have skinny legs, tapered Kore styles offer a closer fit, but choose a wider cut and a 5–7 inch inseam for comfort and freedom of movement.
