GAME CHANGER in sun protection!
I have 6 of these by now… brought two on my 22 day hike on the JMT without and didn’t have to worry about sunscreen on my arms, back, neck, and ears the whole trip! (the hood really enhances the UV protection)! I am very fair skin, been wearing the crater lake hoody for years, and have yet to get sunburn through the amazingly soft and moisture wicking material! The Crater Lake Hoody is my go-to backpacking top, and wear it anytime I am in the sun for extended periods of time. This piece is a must have for anyone doing anything outdoors!

light, breathable, developed holes after only a few washes
I bought this hoody in September for an October Camino de Santiago hike. I saw several great reviews about how it's light, breathable, and great sun coverage. It was all of those things but several holes developed after 2-3 washes by the left thumb hole, in the armpits, and randomly along the shirt. We used a laundry machine only a few times but, on medium heat, the zipper melted and adhered two parts of the hoody together.

Serves its purpose, but please change the string!
Like the light weight, material soft, and so far has held up, but wear only when hiking/camping. I am limited with funds, want quality items, and need them to last. It is not my favorite of these kind of shirts, but it has served it purpose. The string is useless in the front- awkward and long. It got caught when wearing and ripped. So, now it is no more. Wish they would revise that. I am not totally a fan of this color pattern, but sold out of one O wantexld befoee could order, and this was the only one left in my size on sale ( I have to budget). Overall, not totally unhappy, somewhere in the middle. Ot was comfortable, and the features worked when wearing it during hiking etc. I wanted a 2nd one and went with another brand. So time will tell.

Disappointed
This is a nice piece, very soft and comfortable but unfortunately after wearing for only an hour I absolutely reeked. I don’t think it will be good for long hikes involving any sweat which is what I bought it for

Favorite Top
I have many of these Crater Lake Long Sleeve Hoody's ... I love how light weight the fabric is ... it is wonderful for layering. I DO wish they would come in some basic plain colors ... like dark grey, dark brown, black. I will continue to purchase these ... they are my favorite tops by far.

Almost Good
I've had this sun hoody for 1 year now, and these are my thoughts: Pros: The material is sooo soft and comfortable. It offers good stretch, hasn't snagged or torn, and is generally just nice to wear. Cons: The fit is just off. For me, the hoody is about 6" too long, and the drawstring just ends up between my legs when I'm walking (and is one extra hurdle to overcome when you have to water a tree, if you know what I mean). The hood is large enough to wear over a helmet, but is too large and constantly falls down if I'm not wearing a helmet. The hood also offers zero front neck coverage. Move the drawstring from the bottom to the hood, shorten the garment a bit, and add a little front neck coverage and this would be an awesome hoody. However, as it is now I tend to reach for the other sun hoodies in my closet.

Soft materials
This is one of my favorite light weight pull overs. It’s also great for travel.

Awesome shirts
Very comfortable and durable. High quality. My wife is very pale and we live at altitude so she basically lives in these shirts. She won't wear any others.

I like the Fabric and fit of this shirt.
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:
- Medium
Fabric is a lightweight and feels good on you. Breathes easily. Little zipper pouch on side is a nice bonus, enough for a key or some &. I wouldn’t put anything real happy as the fabric is very light.

Cute, but bad design!
Cute and a great color. However all the stitching is on the outside of the shirt. Went for a hike and by the end all the seams were fluffy due to trees and plants. We weren’t fully bushwhacking, so I was shocked that the seams were shredded. There were no seams pulling apart, but I didn’t want to keep it to find out
