Total Betrayal
Seriously Merrell? Complete removal of the features that make the Nova line what it is (was). I've had several pairs of Nova 3s, they're awesome. I thought I was a Merrell customer for life, after this though, these will probably be my last pair of Merrell shoes ever. The waterproof lining sounds like you are walking around with diapers on your feet and they don't breath anywhere nearly as well as Gore-Tex. I could wear my Nova 3's all day long and never have any moister buildup. With the exact same socks and exact same activities it's clear that this waterproofing material is totally inferior. No more Vibram, a corner stone of this type of shoe. Whatever the mix is that was used for these is seriously underwhelming. They're super slippery on random smooth surfaces. I can't image ever trying these on an actual trail with slippery rocks. That would never be a concern with Vibram. No rockplate. No gaiter strap. The fit is totally different. It's extremely frustrating buying a pair of shoes that you've trusted for years and get this level of subpar performance for the same, if not higher cost.

Comfortable but noisy
Shoe is very comfortable but it sounds like my feet are in a cellophane wrapper. With every step it sounds like I'm opening a bag of chips. Not sure why they can't use a waterproof material that doesn't make noise

My new fishing shoes , actually my second pair !
This is my second pair of nova waterproof, I mainly got them because they match my rain suit for when I bass fish and they are waterproof, they just happen to be very comfortable, the new pair has more room in the toe area which I like very much, my older pair still are in good shape except for where I got a hook caught in my shoe and had to remove it, it messed up the thread slightly, but probably I’m the only one that would notice ✌️🐸🐸🎣🎣🐸🐸🙄

Not as good as the excellent nova 3
Decent but not as good as the nova 3. Makes a noise with every step. Otherwise comfortable and good quality

Nice-looking, with a few minor flaws
Nice looking shoes. Laces are too short to properly use ankle loops. Not as comfortable as my other Merrell's or hiking shoes.

Best shoe yet
Brilliant shoe. Excellent lightweight fit, stands up to punishment, and I consider the shoe an actual aid to my training routine--which subjects my feet to punishment on bad terrain. Long time Merrill customer and this shoe will keep me coming back.

Great shoes!!
I really like these shoes. They are replacing my old Moab 3s that I loved. I went hiking straight up a mountain yesterday and everybody was slipping and sliding but not me. These have excellent traction. They are also very comfortable. I couldn’t be more satisfied. I now prefer them over my Hokas for street use as well.

Nova 4 Waterproof... 5/5
Great shoes! I'm very happy with the fit, support, grip, design and style. I usually take a size 12, but got these in size 13. Perfect fit. Waterproofing ability is yet to come, but so far rain is not a problem.

Anothet Terrible Evolution of Nova series
Terrible. Ever since Nova 2 this shoe model had declined. The porous sole allows prickley pear and mesquite thorns to easily pentrate through in the softer foam. The high profile cushion sole may be great for pavement trails but not for natural landscape. Definately this is now metro "trail" shoe chasing Hoka profiles. Bring back the Nova 2
