Why We Like The Nuuk Parka
When we’re wandering through the ski village after a day on the mountain, we zip into the Nuuk Parka knowing it will provide all of the warmth and weather protection we’ll need in unforgiving environments. Supreme Micro Loft emulates the warmth of down, yet performs better in damp environments, which the 10K waterproofing also helps with.

A superb parka for cold, wet weather
I have now been through one full year with my Nuuk parka. It is truly amazing. Extremely high quality, truly waterproof, yet not too heavy. Extremely warm. I sometimes forego gloves and just use the parka's lined hand pockets. The hood is very adjustable with the wire frame. Very well-designed pockets, and lots of them external and internal. I sometimes forget which pocket I used for something. So, the zipper. I have gotten used to it but getting the zipper inserted and started can be a challenge, especially in low light. I do wish it was easier. Nonetheless, this parka is about as close to perfect as I have ever seen. Very highly recommended. I am considering also getting the Nuuk Lite for its similar build quality and features, to use when it is the temperatures are too high to use the Nuuk.

Massive Difference Recycled Nuuk...for the worst!
The material is now recycled which is totally different to the previous non recycled version. Recycled Nuuk feels cheap and I'm not impressed with it. Crinkled look which looks shabby. Wish I bought the non recycled Nuuk now! Wonder where they get these recycled Polymide materials from as it isn't from Fjällräven materials. And they charge the same price! Scandalous!

Warm and Dry
Bought this just before Christmas 2023. Main use for winter trips to the Baltics , Norwegian cruise later in the year and closer to home winter dog walks in the UK . First used in anger during a couple of days of snow and minus 2 dog walks in UK amd then cold wet rainy long weekend in Riga. No complaints whatsoever other than I was too warm at the airport! Pockets are plentiful , no issues with zip as others mention and quick drying . Wore just a normal cotton T Shirt underneath with temps down to -5, I'm a warm person anyway and was on occasions too warm

Impossible to zip up
The zipper is nearly impossible to zip. Bad design. Very frustrating.

Heavy but cold Updated
I wrote the review titled "Heavy but Cold" and gave the parka two stars. Now that I have worn it for a month in sleet and cold spring damp conditions I changed my mind. The parka fits well over my body. The zipper is still an issue and I feel the hood needs some improvement such as the chin collar rising further and for the fur edging to wrap around more nicely. Still, I've grown to love pulling it on to take the dogs out for a walk on a cold clammy 3 to 10 degree day Celsius. It's rather cozy and has the pockets.

Heavy but Cold
It seems well made but in spite of its arctic style this Nuuk isn't warm for the weight. I own several Fjallraven jackets and parkas and this is my first disappointment. The hood is clunky and the chin protection awkward. I agree with other reviewers that the hand warming pockets are too low and out of reach. It is a drafty garment. I felt chilly walking the dogs in -5 Celsius with a merino wool base and flannel underneath. I am hoping the parka redeems itself in wet conditions but otherwise Fjallraven has a lot of better options in this price range. The Nuuk I am reviewing is a 86668 Nuuk circa 2023. I have seen earlier models with seemingly better features such as more cargo pocket gusseting and a fuller bodied fur edging.

Amazing Warm Jacket!
I needed a jacket for a December Sweden and Iceland trip and this jacket was perfect! I tried the SINGI DOWN JACKET M also but thought that one was a little more extreme, My needs for this trip were just being out in the elements half days. The Nuuk Parka M kept me so warm! Some days I only had a tee shirt on under it. I never needed a thermal top under it. Only occasionally an additional layer. It was wind proof and very water resistant. My only two critiques are 1) The zipper. It was difficult to latch at times and 2) Too many pockets. There are 11 and at time I had trouble remembering what was where. 10/10 love this coat though. Made winter weather a breeze to deal with!

Outstanding parka
I've had this parka for two years now and it's quite simply the best coat I've ever owned. Super warm, extremely good fit, super practical with loads of pockets. I literally can't fault it in any way. Absolutely superb. I've never been wet or cold ans would highly recommend buying one.

Amazing coat
I’ve had this jacket for over a year, and I absolutely love it. It’s one of the warmers I’ve owned. It has a ton of pocket space (I literally put a puppy in it), and the hood keeps the snow and wind off your face. 10/10 recommend. The only negative is it takes a while to dry.
