A vest above the rest.

Never one to cut corners, Filson has been turning out quality, durable goods since prospectors first ventured up the Klondike river in search of gold, and the clothing Filson produces today is of that same caliber. The Men's Down Cruiser Vest comes from this long tradition as is reflected in its hard-wearing materials and carefully crafted construction. You're not going to find weak materials and plastic buttons on this jacket—the Down Cruiser is made with metal buttons and Filson's legendary oil finish Shelter Cloth, which forms a water-resistant barrier around the 550-fill goose down insulation. This insulation offers serious warmth when layered over a flannel shirt or light jacket. The vest borrows its design from Filson's classic Cruiser jacket with two large hand pockets and two chest pockets that will accommodate everything from a few rifle shells to a couple of ballpoint pens.

I wore this vest every day this winter after I received it as an xmas gift. Super high quality. Extremely warm, almost too warm. Hoping to get at least a decade of use out of this ultra nice purchase.
Fit is true to size for a person with an average length torso and "lumberjack" body type.

Unanswered Question

How puffy is this vest? How does the puffiness compare to the Patagonia Bivy Down Vest? Does the oil finish mean I'll have to treat the fabric on occasion in order to retain the water-resistance?
