Infant Green Snow Jackets

If your outings are mostly in dry, very cold conditions, down (like 600‑fill) gives great lightweight warmth and layers up easily. For wet snow or active play like sledding, synthetic insulation in the 100–200g range handles moisture better and keeps kids warm when they get damp.

Leave room for growth by choosing a slightly roomy fit and checking size ranges from newborn to 36 months so there’s space for diapers and extra layers. Look for features like grow cuffs and drop‑tail hems to extend wear and make diaper changes easier.

Waterproof ratings between 10K and 20K are common and provide good protection for snow play, while taped seams and a DWR finish boost wet‑weather performance. Also consider breathability numbers (up to 15K) if your child will be very active, since better breathability helps prevent internal dampness.

Hooded designs with adjustable cuffs, fold‑over mittens, and a drop‑tail hem give full coverage and limit heat loss at wrists and the back. Jackets with reinforced knees, powder skirts, and helmet‑compatible hoods add durability and on‑hill functionality—models like the Columbia Snuggly Bunny II even pair down filling with convenient fold‑over mitts.

Many snowsuits now use recycled nylon or polyester shells and certifications like bluesign or PFAS‑free DWR to reduce environmental impact. For example, the Patagonia Insulated Snowsuit features recycled synthetic insulation, and brands such as Deux par Deux offer waterproof, eco‑minded construction across a wide size range.
