Why We Like The Recon Stretch Ski Pant

Whether we're earning our turns or lapping lifts, the Recon Stretch Ski Pant from Black Diamond keeps us moving freely in dry comfort. Its BD.dry waterproof membrane offers protection on stormy days while also providing breathability when we're on long tours in the backcountry.

We appreciate that the four-way stretch fabric keeps you moving on the skin track and mobile through tree runs. An updated, low profile PIEPS Pocket stows your avy gear when you venture out of bounds, and thigh pockets store your daily necessities. Offset side venting dumps heat when you're boot-packing and lapping turns in deep powder, while the high-mounted snow gaiter keeps out those fresh flakes for day-long comfort in the snow.

Best shell pants yet

I’ve really enjoyed these pants. Great mobility for skiing; great shell sheds the wind and water.

Perfect fit, Looks Great & Keeps You Dry

These stretch pants are terrific. I’m a 34” waist, 5’11” and 200 lbs and purchased size large. These pants fit perfect and provide the right ergonomic fit for making the perfect turns whether you’re skiing hard in the backcountry or causally skiing down the groomed runs. Pair the pants with the Recon Stretch Pro Shell and you will be beyond satisfied!

Great ski pants

Novice skier and while I didn’t have any bad falls, no snow or ice went up my pants! I like how the pants are reinforced around where they go over the boots to provide protection against any roughness they may encounter. I went with a size large and for reference I am a size 34w-32l pant, 5’11” 195lb athletic build. I could wear a base layer and sweatpants under this no problem and honestly there would enough for more layers or thicker layers if needed.

great cut for skiers

using a tape and the fit guide helped me select the Mediums There's a cool beacon pocket on the right leg front that is not in the description. There is a sleeve within the pocket to cradle and pad the beacon and there is a removable stretch lanyard. Looking forward to trying that in lieu of the chest harness

Great pants!

These pants are perfect. Very high quality and thoughtfully made. The pockets are very well place and are the perfect size. I highly recommend these pants. I am 6'1" 200 lbs with about a 33" hips. I got a size medium and they fit perfectly.

Excellent Fit

These pants feel like they’ve been custom tailored to me. I’m 6’1” 215 pounds. Muscular build. I tried 4 other brands before trying these because the butt and thighs were too tight in the other brands. I ski 50 days a year and lift weights so have larger thighs. Pants are always tricky to find. But I am so happy with the fit of these.

Great material- well designed and functional. I am a patroller and rely on them every day. However, it is inevitable that I will blow the crotch out within a year, and I will be looking for yet another pair of pants. They need to make that area gusseted with more range of motion. Knees should be reinforced or at least think about it in the future. Otherwise great quality.

Great ski pants!

I’m 5’11/190 lbs and wear 34-36 jeans. Fit is good in the waist, the legs are definitely roomy. Quality is top notch like other Black Diamond clothes I have. The outer layer is thick and durable and warm. Love them!

Too baggy

I love the fabric and beacon pocket. The waist fits perfectly at 34 inches. However, the butt and thigh area are ridiculously baggy. I am 5'11" 170 lbs.

Great fit

At 6’2” I’m always running into issues with pants not being long enough. I did not have that problem with the recon stretch ski pants. They fit over my boots and there’s extra length so they don’t ride up while I’m skiing. They’re comfortable and warm as well.
