Lightweight. Easy to move in.
Lightweight. Easy to move in. Water resistance is fine and a small compromise for the breathability. No insulation. Very thin. 5 stars for backcountry. Probably not as good for wet weather. Skinned and also used at the resort.

Too Big
3 stars only because these pants fit too big. I got a small, (I’m 5’7” 125lbs) they are about 2 inches too long and the smallest waist adjustment is slightly too big. Other wise these pants are a great lightweight ski pant

Huge waist
I'm 5'11", 165lbs, 30" waist, sized into a Small and fit the small size of the dawn patrol kit perfectly. I can't get these to cinch down enough to not fall off my butt, and in classic BD style, there's an overly-inventive belt substitute, but no belt loops! I am looking at having them tailored, but otherwise they'll be going to the resale store.

Mixed feelings
Excited to try this gear out on the mountain. Build quality and materials seem good. Kind of surprised at how thin it is tho, hopefully it will stand up. No liner or insulation but built into it, but big / loose enough to fit some layers underneath it.

Too baggy and loose
More in bounds snowboarder feel than backcountry touring

Looking for a relatively lightweight, flexible, well designed backcountry pants, and these are it!

Not that slim
I have a 35-36” waist and the ladder lock on the large won’t go small enough for me. The hook strap should be at least 1” shorter. The fit is ok in the thigh but bordering on comical below the knee. Could be much tighter and still go over big boots. Hard to imagine that these are much slimmer than the regular Recon unless those are real baggy. Material seems good. Mesh on the vents would be nice.

Lightweight,, Belt issue
The regular Recon Pants have been my workhorse resort pants for several years. Overall I've liked them and they've held up well but the cut is baggier than I need and I thought the LT's trimmer fit and lighter fabric would work better in the backcountry and they definitely do. The LT's are excellent touring friendly hard shells. They don't breathe as well as a soft shell pant but for storm days and colder weather in the backcountry the LTs perform well. My only gripe is the integrated belt has a limited range of adjustability. My 32 waist is within the listed size range for Mediums but in practice the integrated belt ladder lock doesn't let me cinch down enough. Wearing a pack with a waist belt makes this worse. If the pants had belt loops, I'd just use a belt, but they don't. I'm 6' and the length is good for my legs.

I like these, but they
I like these, but they run a bit big and you can’t cinch down the belt past the ladder lock notches. Also, the pants are very long. They’re great, but those two issues are annoying
