    Great Rack

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have been using these for the better part of the year. This rack is well thought out and extremely easy to use. In comparison to the T1 and some of the more low cost models you can really FEEL the difference when loading bikes and driving with them.

The bulk of the design leads to a solid feel on the road, where some of the lower cost racks seem to bounce around and crank my anxiety that my 5k bike may fall off. That alone is worth the $ upgrade.

The two things that slightly bother me are the spinning locking mechanism that tightens and snugs your rack to the car - its not easy to grip and I cut my finger almost every time I tighten it, so going between cars is a slight pain. The second is the locking mechanisms to actually lock your bikes to the racks... they dont reach very far and it creates rub when driving because of how tight they fit on the frame. Both are minor inconveniences.

The flip up/down system is bulky and soooo easy to use.

It was very easy to install and I would highly recommend this rack to anyone interested.

    I've had both versions

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I have owned the 'Classic' version for 7 years and put it through hell. Rust is the bane of these racks and I've had to replace some parts, but I think I got my money's worth out of that add-on.

This new design has a lot more plastic, but some handy feature improvements. Time will tell if it can match the longevity of the previous version. We ride year-round so our racks will be abused.

    Great add on!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Great add on for item#THU005E very easy to install. Very secure and stable at hwy speeds. It also comes installed with a locking cord to have peace of mind..

    Very versatile setup

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This extension to the T2 Pro is fantastic! (see my other review on the base product product page) It only took a few extra minutes to add the extension to the base two-bike product. It was challenging enough that I probably won't be swapping it back and forth from the two- to four-bike configuration, but it is easy enough to do if needed. The best part is the handle on the end of the bar for raising and and lowering the rack is moved out to the end of the fourth bike slot. However, with the handle further away from the hitch and adding additional racks and bikes, there is much more weight to lift now. You definitely want to lift with your legs rather than your back on this one! The instructions say it has a weight capacity of ~150 lbs across all four bikes, which easily accommodates four adult mountain bikes, but it's a lot to lift for one person (Note: about half of that weight is supported by the hitch when lifting). My other favorite part about the rack is that once the hitch mount is tightened, the rack and bikes don't sway at all, even with the added weight and length!

    Very versatile setup
