    What doesn't it do?

From using it for navigation on hikes with friends, to long trail runs, skiing at Snowbird, this watch covers it all. Not a huge fan of the HR belt, but luckily Suunto is releasing a new version of the Spartan Ultra that will have a wrist HR feature. So yeah, new watch coming my way soon. Can't wait! GPS syncs up for me relatively fast and usually never have any issues. The Movescount app can be a little bit fickle sometimes uploading workouts via Bluetooth, but honestly that is just being a little nit picky. Overall I absolutely love this watch. I had the Ambit 2 Sport and now the 3 and can't wait for the Spartan Ultra HR to come out.

      What doesn't it do?

Does everything I need and more!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size

I've been using this watch for a while during my triathlon trainings and it's perfect! It has all the functionality you could need for the 3 sports. Also the sync with MovesCount and Strava is very easy.
It's a little big on the wrist.
      The battery life is amazing

Can't get lost if you tried!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size

I am a small woman athlete and although this is large, what did you expect with all it is capable of and the battery life that it runs for. This watch has almost too many functions. I have used the back track function, loaded routes, and just plane run, trek, swim, and box with it on. I LOVE this watch! Doesn't hurt that the blue is beautiful. I have also rock climbed with the watch on. The screen is resistant. I have put this watch to the test and finally managed to scratch it sometime last year.

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: Runs large
      • Size Bought: medium

This is a HUGE watch, very heavy. Not for petite female athletes. I bought the Sport version and within 3 months, it stopped picking up my heart rate. Suunto is a nightmare to deal with, they outsource their customer service and no one would call me back, including supervisors. They do not stand by their products, even after only 3 months. I am out $400 and will never buy Suunto again. Worst customer service ever.

What did you expect on the size it has a GPS and a large battery life. They do stand by their products. I have NEVER had trouble getting service from them. And I have owned the watch for over a year. Used it 200+ days last year. Took is lap swimming in salt water in Kona, HI. Rock climbed and banged it up, winter mountaineering and etc.

I had high hopes with this watch. I went through all the steps online to try to set this up. Call me an idiot, I'm returning it. It clearly has all the bells and whistles one could ask for and probably more but all I wanted was a good heart rate monitor, stopwatch, date/time, etc. Easy peasy watch. This is not it. I can navigate around technology and all that but to be honest this is not for me. Just want something to hook up, start and go. Probably just going to get an Ironman HRM instead. Sorry.

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I am a trail runner, mountain biker, hiker, and needed a watch that I could just have all the time for any activity. my last watch was a garmin forerunner 210. I hated it. the gps was very spotty, sometimes it would take several minutes to gain a signal. now with the cache on this watch, it finds a signal within seconds. Its super customizable and its user friendly. I have only used it running and in the gym with a HR monitor so far, but will be putting in more time with it soon. I am excited to test out the ski lap function when the snow starts dumping!

So I'm really torn on the Ambit3 Peak vs the Sport.
Mostly I intend to use it for splitboard mountaineering and training purposes: Trail running, cycling...
Will I really miss the features of the Peak if I cheap out??
