    Tried and true

The SRAM Rival 22 11 Speed Rear Derailleur may be a touch heavier than its Force and Red siblings, but it sacrifices nothing when it comes down to performance, dependability, or durability. Its competition-proven design ensures exacting shifting no matter what the conditions.

SRAM's Exact Actuation technology is actually a hand-me-down from its mountain bike groupsets. It designates a 1:1 relationship between shifter cable travel and derailleur movement. This simple index shifting helps to simplify balancing derailleur hanger design, tight cog spacing and cable tension to ensure fast, efficient shifting. The derailleur moves through the entire range of shifting via a 3mm movement from gear to gear.

The derailleur was constructed from aluminum inner and outer cages as well as b-knuckle. Although these are slightly heavier than the titanium hardware and carbon cages used in the Force and Red Groups, they retain structural integrity and ensure durability.

The SRAM Rival 22 11-Speed Rear Derailleur is available in both a Short and Medium cage version. The Short cage has a maximum rear cog capacity of 28tooth while the Medium is able to work with a 32tooth cog. It is available in the color Grey.

    Reliable SRAM Shifting

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This replaced a 10spd Rival short cage derailleur that had been swapped around on three different bikes over a period of ten years. I wanted 11-32t capacity and the 11spd Rival 22 rear derailleur has the same cable pull ratio and will work just fine. If you have any basic knowledge of bikes, you can easily install, cable, and tune the Rival RD in just minutes. The shifting is smooth and reliable. I have SRAM Red on another bike and Rival is just as efficient with a slight weight penalty.

    Reliable SRAM Shifting

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Easy to set up, great shifting performance, and minimal fiddling needed to get the indexing perfect. About as easy to get dialed in as any rear derailleur I've ever used. Running a short cage with a n 11-28t cassette.

    11 speed on the cheap

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Red? Naw, Rival will work. Rebuilt my aluminum cross bike with Rival 22 Hydro and am thrilled with the performance and shifting. The medium cage will clear a 32t ring with no worries. Easy to install and setup!

    Great shifting

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is my first experience with SRAM, after using both Shimano and Campagnolo systems. The shifting is very crisp, and the rear derailleur took minimal indexing when installed. YouTube has videos from Sram that walk through setup making it a breeze. Very happy with SRAM so far.
