Made to go all the way to 11.
Yeah, SRAM has made Nigel Tufnel jokes pretty easy with its whole 11-speed thing, but that's a small price to pay for improved shifting and better gear ratios. The fanciest cassette in the world won't work right without the correct chain, though, so SRAM modified its PC-1070 chain, renamed in the PC-1170, and served it up to all the 11-speeders out there.
The PC-1170 is slightly narrower than its forebear, to comply with the smaller tolerances required by an 11-speed cassette. It also has hollow pins, which save 20g of weight without decreasing strength, and has new inner and outer finishes for improved smoothness. Of course, it also comes with SRAM's legendary PowerLink, which makes chain removal and drivetrain cleaning as easy as pie. The PC-1170 also ships with a pre-applied coating of SRAM's PowerLube, so it's ready to ride straight out of the box.

Good as always
Whenever I need a new chain I go for the Sram PC-1170. It's a great price and gets the job done. The powerlink is a nice feature.

- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I'm a big Sram fan, so naturally I buy their chains. This is solid balance between price and performance.
Good Price - Solid performance

Not much to say about a chain that works well. Has lasted me a long time, and has plenty of life left.
Basic

Smooth and functional. Works great with an 11 speed drivetrain.
What is there to say?

Chains aren't the sexiest part on the bike but it is just a scooter without one. Durable and easy to install.
reliable piece of machinery

Have not broken a link yet on my CX bike and I ride hard !
Makes my wheel move!

Replacing chains regularly helps my bike feel like new. This chain is quiet and smooth shifting. Just make sure to soak it in some degreaser before installing as it comes with sticky, gross preservative all over straight out of the package.
reliable
- Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
SRAM has some pretty reliable chains. Does the job, quiet, and smooth shifting.
Good chain
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
Works great with Shimano Ultegra 11-speed drive-train. Very smooth and quiet. I like that it comes pre-lubed. I also like connector link vs. having to jam pins through with my crappy chain tool.
Value Chain

Good value for a less expensive option than the 1190 chain, for your Red 22 or Force 22 drive train. Replace your chain and cassette at the same time to improve drive train performance. Makes you feel like you have a brand new bike!!
For a 1x 11 set up, with a chainring with narrow/wide teeth, will this chain work perfectly, or is it better to use the Sram X1 chain designed for narrow wide chainrings? Or is it necessary to go to a different chainring?
Will this chain work with an XT 11-46 cassette (1x11 MTB application)? I like the power link vs shimano pins.
Yes, I run that set up on my Yeti SB 4.5 and it shifts amazing!
The chain comes pre-lubed. That tacky substance is factory lubrication, which I like leaving on to start. Soaking the chain in a solvent out of the gate is a little counter-intuitive.
