Road Standard Presta Valve Tube
Specialized's Road Standard Presta Valve Tube is constructed using a molding method during which each tube is individually cured to ensure more consistent thickness throughout. It might sound insignificant, but if you've ever had small hops under your inflated tire or difficulty stuffing a tube in a fresh tire, you'll know how beneficial this construction is for reducing frustrations as a cyclist. The consistent thickness leads to smoother rolling on the road, which likely makes for a faster ride. The tubes are available in varying widths to pair with both road and off-road tires and have varying lengths of stems to ensure the valve clears your wheel's profile.

Removeable valve a plus
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Size Bought:
- for 700cX25 tires
I commute by bicycle regularly and I have been using Slime sealant in my tubes to help seal annoying punctures. I started using these tubes when I discovered that the valve assembly is removable by simply unscrewing. These are good quality tubes and I've been using them for years now.

Valve body leaked - Unusable
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I ordered several Fall 2023 and all the valve bodies leaked when the stem nut is loosened when you are pumping air into the tube.... had to throw them all away and order new tubes from a different manufacturer.

Horrible Tubes
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Every one of these tubes had faulty valves. Every one leaked air once riding the bike. Would never purchase these again....

Holds Air Most of the Time
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I purchased the 700 x 20-28mm/80mm option for my carbon wheels. Local bike shops don't usually have them in stock and I'm not a fan of using extenders except in an emergency. I usually carry 2 spare tubes. Got a flat, valve cores on both spare tubes failed and I went from a cyclist to a pedestrian just like that. Lesson learned... I added a valve core tool (and extra cores) to my repair kit and switched my road pump to a Silca Tattico BT version because it doesn't have a thread-on chuck that will loosen the cores. I periodically check/tighten valve cores and haven't had an issue since. It's a tube, not rocket science. Probably no better or worse than any other standard tubes I've used.

Specialized should be ashamed...

... of putting they name on this junk. Exactly as a couple of reviewers claimed here, you have a big chance of getting a tube with the defective valve (leaks air right out of the box). I ordered two tubes, one was kind of OK, but another one was defective. I tried adjust/tighten the core, I even replaced a core with one from another tube, I tried a couple of different air pumps, but nothing helped.

Junk
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Junk tube. Valve stem cores wouldn't stay in. Every time I pulled the adaptor off the valve stem the inner core would come out. Probably got 100 miles out of it most.

Specialized inner tubes, presta valve
These have always been my go to tubes. Usually inexpensive, light and always get me home from rides where I've flatted. Haven't used any of this years purchased (4). Can only hope they work as good as previous purchases. If not? I'll be one 'very irate' customer!!! Wish me a NO flat summer, please.

Bad valves
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I bought a pile of these. Nothing like unboxing a new tube and finding out the valve leaks air. Well, except when you unbox another and that valve leaks air, and another leaks. You get the idea. Maybe I got a bad batch tubes. Otherwise, if you find one where the valve doesn't leak the tubes are fine.
