Shimano Dura-Ace 9000 Chainring
The Shimano Dura-Ace groupset is well known for its precision engineering. This engineering extends into every part of the groupset, including the new 9000-series Chainring. The DA 9000 chainring is made from alloy that has been carbide-reinforced. Carbide is often used in drill tips for longevity and durability, and you’ll find those same qualities extend to the chainring. Additionally, the teeth on the rings receive less wear, making for consistent, smooth shifting. But, as perfect as these chainrings are, they are only compatible with Shimano 11-Speed road drivetrains.

I love all of Shimano's bike parts. I purchased this chain ring to dummy down my drive train a little for my aging knees.

Replacement rings
Pro tip: if you only stay in your small ring, the replacements are really cheap. So just don't ever use the big ring. #tipsfromtommy Also the 36t will work just fine with a 53t or 50t outer.

I currently have a 34/50t chainring and was wondering if I could replace the outer with a 52t ring. Is it absolutely compatible?

Can I make a 2X11 system into a 1X11 for with a ST-RS685 for CX? Right now it's 46/36 chainrings, but I'd like to go with just 42. Or 39? Thoughts? Thanks in advance

Will a 36t chainring work with a 50/34 Dura Ace 9000 crankset even though the ramps and pins on a 50t is optimized for 34t?

I currently have the Dura Ace 7900 crankset with 52/39. If I bought this 36t would it still fit on the older (7900) crankset? Thanks in advance

Definitely will not fit, The 9000 dura ace chainring has only a 4 arm design, 7900 series uses a 5 bolt pattern.

You can run it, but it is not recommended.
