Filled with ice and water and inside belt it stays nice and cool for about 1.5 hours at 30 degrees Celsius. Solid build

It smells and tastes like plastic

I really like the product, but it has this disgusting smell of rubber or plastic that makes the water taste unbearable. Is there a way to get rid of the smell?

Just a quick use update...

We've been using these flasks for more than a year now and really like them. The keep water from freezing and are easy to use and VERY easy to clean. But, they have another great feature: no bite valve. The importance of that feature escaped me until I was lucky enough to get braces in my late 40s (once in my teens was apparently not enough). These flasks are now the only ones I use given how sore my front teeth are. I continue to highly recommend these flakes to everyone but especially if you have braces.

A great cold (and hot?) weather option

Having had bladders and soft flasks freeze on us in the winters, we were excited to give these a try. They seem to work really well. No issues at all with freezing (even when we've been in the shadow of the mountain for hours). We've not tried them in the summer yet so can't comment on their ability to keep things cold. The only other thing I think that's worth mentioning is that there is a bit of a learning curve for drinking out of them (at least for me): don't squeeze them too hard as you prepare to drink or you may end of squirting yourself in the face (as I did). Which, while amusing, isn't terribly effective at hydration.
