Argon Down Pant

Stay warm while you're hanging around base camp in the Rab Men's Argon Down Pant. It's packed with lightweight, compressible, and ultra-warm down insulation to keep your lower half toasty after the sun goes down in the high mountains.

Light, yet tough Pertex Endurance fabric sheds light flurries and drizzles to ward off unexpected weather. Goose down, with its outstanding warmth-to-weight ratio, keeps you cozy without weighing you down, and it's treated with a fluorocarbon-free Nikwax formula so it still insulates even if it gets a little wet. Plus, the down comes from geese that were never live-plucked or force-fed, so you can wear it with a clear conscience.

Cloud of Warmth

I've used it several times
Size Bought:
6' 3"

I was looking for an added layer for winter fishing / camping and came across these . They are like stepping to a cloud of warmth ! Super warm and very happy. I'm 6'3 215 athletic build with a 34-35 inch waist and got a size XL. I can fit layers underneath and they fit nicely around the waist . Highly recommend for anyone looking to add superior warmth to their layering game .

Just as warm as I

Just as warm as I was hoping, Men’s Argon Down Pants have been the perfect buy for me. I have Reynauds Syndrome which means the blood supply to my extremities shuts down when my core temperature changes. Combined with layered RAB Women’s Down Parkas, the Argon Down Pants can keep the blood flowing to my fingers & toes this winter, indoors and outdoors.

The most comfortable!

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Size Bought:
6' 4"

I have the ghost whisperer and stretchdown down pants from mountains hardware. These one are much puffier and just overall more comfortable. I'm 6"4 210 and my waist is 33-35 depending on brand and I'm glad I went with XL here. L which indicates 34 " for RAB would be too tight!

The down pants are exactly

The down pants are exactly as described. However, I should advise that the waist sizing is very honest. I had to return the first pair and order the next size up. The new pair are a comfortable fit. The DPD delivery worked well as described on the website.

Very bad Sizing

I'm 5ft 11" slim build ordered large size, fitted well apart from the waist which was ridiculously small !!!!, if I had 28" waist I might of just got the button done up! I buy a lot of Rab gear and always fit well, but this size was way out, very very disappointed

Get Down with it.

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I have mixed feelings about writing reviews all the time. It seems like both manufacturers as well as distributors are often times bullies or highly insistant that all us good consumers automatically behave accordingly and write reviews. If they need me to sell their product, then why don't they contact me directly with a 40% off, then I could really sing their praises. Ok, thanks for letting me vent- even though you had no choice- you could always stop reading inwhich case I sinply say adios. So now the actual review. The Rab outdoors Aragon pants in conjunction with Backcountry's great discount easilly let's me sing praises to both companies. Though I have not used these in the wilderness yet, I can tell just by having worn them in my Fourwheel camper for a couple hours, just the amazing quality. Quantum pertex is the perfect down fabric. I have a Katibactic gear quilt made of the same fabric- soft, down proof, the perfect down fabric in my opinion. For my uses these pants will be an -in the camper or in camp cozy gear add on. A Fourwheel camper is soft sided and looses heat quickly. With these I feel more in control of my body temperature able to run heat and then let the camper cool off without me needing to put stuff on and off repeatedly. These babies fit the bill perfectly- and I mean perfectly. They really are just like a sleeping bag for your lower half. Another possible use will be either bikepacking or again in the camper in the shoulder seasons. With these I can easily bring a lighter quilt and then sleep in these with a down jacket and a cap and purhaps even with some down sox. I already did an experiment with that set up combined wiht my quilt and boy houdy, that combo rocks. As I have seen in other videos- if you are looking, then just go ahead and buy them. To me it seems extreamly difficult to find anyone disappointed with these as a base camp pant. If you plan on climbing high altitude, then I believe Rab does not sell them with this intention. Base camp though they will be a cozy and welcome campanion. I hope this sells some of their product- I don't mind endorsing excellence.
