Light pants with plenty of stretch to pull through the crux.

The last thing you want holding you back at the crux is a pair of restrictive pants. The Men's RPS Rock Pants are Patagonia's lightest climbing pants with just enough stretch to get your leg up to that next hold. A gusseted crotch enhances mobility while an articulated pattern makes for a comfortable fit under your harness. The unique OppoSet adjustable button allows for a custom fit at the waist, and the cinch cuffs prevent the hems from getting caught up. To finish the pants, Patagonia added a DWR finish to shed light moisture, making these pants well equipped to handle all your climbing endeavors.

    Supreme Quality

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Size 33

I used these pants during a climbing expedition in Colorado, and they were marvelous! The quality is top-notch: comfortable, and dependable. These pants withstood rocks, water, and glissading -- no rips or tears, and kept me dry.

    Differences in sizes

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 31

Buy this pantalon in blue (31), which I thought perfect, after buying the black (31) same but the latter is bigger than normal and when it is adjusted wrong.

    Climbing Jesus would be proud

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

On the fifth day climbing jesus was resurrected wearing these pants and was ready to ascend every pitch that these heathens dare claim un-climbable. The comfort this garment provides often leads me into situation where I am no longer wearing underwear and simply going commando. The cinch cuff is great if you wanna show off those ripped calves and look like 80's Kurt Russell in his full glory. I feel like the pants will last quite a long time, which is cool because the material is (as I mentioned before) quite comfy and is still resistant to any tears or scrapes you may encounter on the wall. I also used these pants on the river after I encountered 3rd degree burns from the pain orb after a long day of rowing. They dry pretty well so take that for what it is.

    Comfortable and functional

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 33

These pants fit great on me, which is rare because I have pretty big thighs. They're great for climbing and most activities you would do outdoors. They dry quick, and the cinch cuff is super nice so you can pull them up to your calf or even your knees if you need to.

    Adjustable waist slips

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 30

I really wanted to like these pants. They get good reviews and I generally like Patagonia gear. The adjustable waist slips on my pair of pants, so within a couple minutes of walking I'd need to tighten it again. I'm generally about a 29" waist , but ordered 30" since they don't make a 29". I figured I'd cinch up the excess with the adjustable waist.
These also seemed to fit a little tight in the thighs. Not a major issue, but given the other fit issue I think I'm going to return them and look for something else.

    wish they were longer

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

A problem I've had in my life is having a longer inseam than waist size. These pants only come in set inseam lengths. This makes these floods on me when the waist fits and even though it's not a huge deal it looks funny. Other than that they are a nice material that performs well and the pockets are functional.

    So good

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 32

These pants are absolutely incredible for climbing. The adjustable waist and cinch cuffs are perfect for getting just the right fit. The mobility is invaluable for being comfortable through the variety of moves climbing can require of you. I climbed Fine Jade and Honeymoon Chimney in Castle Valley in these pants and they were perfect. From thin face , to offwidth and chimney climbing, these pants were perfectly comfortable for all of it. These are my go to for any big climb.

    New FAVORITE!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 32

Of all of outdoors shorts and pants that I own, these are by far my favorite pair. They feel more durable and of higher quality than any other climbing/outdoor pants I've ever seen. Everything about the pants is high quality and on top of that, the green color is amazing. I am 5'11" and weigh 180 lbs and the size 32 waist fits me perfect. The only semi-negative thing about the pants is that a size 32 for me at a 5'11" are a little long. However, this is completely negated by the elastic ankle straps which are excellent.

    Great light weight pants

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 35

These pants are awesome, I've been wearing them way more than my stretch zions because they're a little lighter weight and the cinch at the cuff is way nicer than having to fold up/snap your pants up. Liked them so much I snagged a second pair. They do run a touch big, so I ordered a single waist size smaller than I normally wear

    Great light weight pants

    Durable

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 30

These look nice and fit well. The shockcord cuffs are a great feature for keeping the pant bottoms out of the way, and the angled zipper pocket is easy to use either standing or sitting. The integrated tightening thing is cool and also works well.
The fabric seems quite durable so far. It's survived a few climbs on the very rough rock of Powerlinez, but did get a small hole in the knee when my bike slipped out on a high-speed turn on concrete... However, I think I fared far better than if I'd been wearing shorts. Great pants!

    Love these pants!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: Size 34

The only other technical/climbing pants that I can compare these pants to is the Prana Wyatt and these blow them out of the water both in term of functionality and comfort. They do run slightly larger, but then that might be due to the fact that most pants I wear are slim, and these are labeled as regular. I ordered size 34 and they fit more like 35/36. They are very thin, but the material is tried and true and holds up quite well. The cinch cuffs on these are what sold me, they are great when climbing but nice to have them down for the approach if the temperatures demand it. I will be ordering another 2 of these! Great pants!

    No more Origami cuffs

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

If you are looking for a lightweight pair of climbing pants for the fall/spring, these will be your jam. They are super stretchy, baggie in the right places, and the key for me is the adjustable cuffs. Which is a feature all climbing specific pants should have.

While they do fit a hair larger than usual, I stuck with my usual size and I have not had any issues due to the adjustable waist. Overall a great piece and I suggest that anyone who is looking for some steezy pants for the cliff/boulders or even casual wear, pick up a pair of these.

    It's like I'm naked....

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large

Seriously! These pants are awesome.. lightweight so you barely know they are there, and they don't restrict movement at all. Perfect for climbing or hiking! I broke these in on a recent trip to Red Rock Canyon and they performed stellar! A cord runs through the ankles that you can tighten to get the pant out of the way when going for a climb or when it heats up outside.

    It's like I'm naked....

Will you be carrying any of these pants in a size 28?
