Secure your drivetrain for cleaning and bike transport.

Commonly known as a Dummy Hub, the Park Tool DH-1 Dummy Hub slides into the rear dropouts and replaces the rear wheel, so you can easily clean your chain and transport your bike with your rear derailleur and chain secured in place. It's compatible with all rear derailleurs and 1/8-inch chains, as well as working with both open dropout and 12-millimeter thru-axle frames.

    Worth Its Weight In Gold

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I got my MTB up on a stand to give it a much-needed through cleaning which meant pulling the wheels (I watched the Park Tool vid on YT and basically did all those steps). To be able to pop on this dummy hub in 5 seconds with the QR lever is priceless... you HAVE to in order to clean the chain properly and not have it flopping around. BTW, the Park Tool Chain cleaner is also superb. In the AZ desert dust that chain doesn't get muddy/grimy, it gets gooey and abrasive so yu have to use the chain cleaner tool and the ONLY way to make that happen is with the dummy hub. Make sure you get the right one. I don't have a through-axle on my less expensive Marlin 7 so I get the quick release hub, but they do make one for through-axle.
