Does the job!

Familiarity:
I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

These gators were bought for my friend who lives in the deep snow of Wyoming. She likes them and loves the quality.

Great Gaiters!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

They fit my boots and legs comfortably. I have used them several times hiking in cold weather. They are great for protecting my legs while wearing microspikes or snowshoes and keep the snow/mud/dirt off and out of my boots. Great value for the price!

glad I purchased these!

I've used it several times

I wore these trekking through brush and then through snow and creeks. They are great at keeping out debris and moisture and they add a layer of wind and cold protection over other pants. It took me a bit to figure out how to get these to fit perfectly, but after that, putting them on was pretty easy. The only minor glitch is that the velcro tab on the bottom is a bit hard to grasp with freezing fingers.

Thank you for the review, Ellen! Enjoy - Leta OR Rep

Awesome Gaiters

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

This is my first pair of gaiters, I was never too sure of why you would need them if you wear ski pants to tour or hike or anything in the snow... but when I received these it was an awesome change! I love to wear these while snowshoeing the most, when it is warmer out and not snowing and I don't want to wear full ski pants, I just wear some leggings or pants and put these gaiters over, and if snow kicks up while snowshoeing I am totally covered where it would get me! They keep my feet, ankles and lower legs dry and protected! I haven't used them in spring or summer yet for dirt and debris, but I think they will be awesome to have in your pack in case you need them for that too. They attach to your shoes and legs really easily and comfortably. Once they are on, it doesn't even feel like you're wearing them which I like! I didn't want anything bulky at all.

These will be great for summer time too because they are not waterproof, so they will breath better than a waterproof gaiter. For snow, they are great for keeping the snow out, but if it gets really wet, you may consider a waterproof Croc gaiter. Thank you for writing! Leta OR Rep

great for the price

I got these for under 30$ and for the price you can't beat it. In snow (at least real winter snow - not talking about wet spring snow) you don't really NEED Gore-Tex. If you don't need a super-technical gaiter this is a good price-effective solution. They have held up well so far. Gaiters are awesome when tracking animals, hiking, and roaming around. Much better than wearing shell pants (at least when it's not precipitating!).

Is this waterproof? How tall & calf circumference in sizes small & medium? Does it zipper

Carolyn, I have the measurements for you. If you have any questions, email or call me directly. These use velcro, not zippers. The length of the velcro in small is 14". So, the cuff at the top would add another inch. The circumference on the small is at the widest part is 18.5. For the medium we have almost 15" of height, not including the cuff at the top and a circumference of 19.5".
