    Osprey For The Win

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: OSFA
    • Height: 3'5"
    • Weight: 39lbs

I was worried this pack would be awkward and too big on my 4 year old daughter (43" tall). But not only does it fit, the strap system works as well as any adult Osprey pack to custom snug to her body. Thats important because the pack is pretty large for a smaller kid and can get pretty heavy. We can fit her lunch box, extra shoes/clothing/layers and water without stuffing it all in. The beaver tail outer/open compartment is key for both shoving some of her things (like shoes) in on the fly, and also because zippers are still not intutive for her age. I havent used this with a bladder yet, so cant speak for that. Most of the kids in my daughters forest preschool rock this pack. And I'm stoked that we will not have to buy her another pack for a, long time. Ospreys are hands down the best all around packs made.

    Perfect little pack

    • Fit: True to size
    • Weight: 41lbs

I bought this pack for my six year old daughter to be used on it's maiden voyage for a trip to Antigua. She is small but all the straps adjusted for a perfect fit with plenty of room for expansion in the years to come. She had a good 10lbs worth of stuff in it for the trip down and back and never complained about it being uncomfortable or too heavy. We used it daily on our trip and I look forward to using it for short hikes as well as day trips in the future. She really enjoyed having her own pack with all her essentials close at hand. I plan on getting the hydration system this spring so there's no fumbling around with water bottles. Osprey quality is in this pack and I would recommend it for your little one as well.

    Perfect little pack

    Great for the Littles

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

My younger daughter has been wearing this pack for hiking over the summer. She has not complained once that it hurts or is uncomfortable. She carries her water, snacks, and extra layers and has plenty of room for other things if need be. It would great if the hip belt had little zippered pouches for easy to reach snacks. She likes the loops in the ends of the shoulder straps and puts her fingers through when she hikes. Top notch construction and outstanding Osprey quality.
