Excellent movement and warmth

The Stretch down Fabric is excellent for warming up on Cold Days and durable enough to keep up with heavy use and movement. I'm never concerned about ripping seams if i'm doing arm swings or easier climbs to get warmed up. The Jacket is also very warm and perfect for long belays or rests in between tries.

Love it

I bought this jacket after thorough research and reading through the descriptions and reviews. I use it mainly for non-strenuous hikes, walks with my dog, travel, and going around and about in town. I have found it to be very comfortable, light, stretchy, warm and the design is great. It is a bit on the bulkier side when it comes to packing/storage, but you can figure out how to pack it down tight removing the air. The description is accurate. It does run large so while I normally wear a size L at 6'0, 185 lbs,I opted for the medium and it was perfect. I've worn a hoodie underneath it as well and it felt fine. I recommended sizing down from your normal size and don't use it for what it's not intended for like ice climbing or backcountry touring. I question it's durability during those activities.

nice big parka

great big parka with tons of pockets. Two-way zip works nice with a harness and is helpful for frosty belays. Yellow Color is nice, bright but not too bright. Size is big as its meant to be layered under (fits well with my fleece hooded jacket under it) Only thing i would add would be adjustable cuffs. Casual enough to take around town too ( though size down if you are not planning on laying under it) Im a larger guy a little over 6 foot 2 and i have a large.

Warm Parka With Limited Use

I really like this Parka. However, I believe it's use is somewhat limited due to the weight and size. I'm an adventure journalist and author who spends at least half the year (usually the cold half) traveling for work in the Rocky Mountains and the deserts of the southwest. This is a great causal Parka for extra cold days or nights in town, in the van, or hanging around camp. I really like the Strechdown material. It's (you guessed it) nice and stretchy making it easy to move around in. The shell material is nice and soft and I love the washed raisin color. The large pockets are great. I like the elastic cuffs but the material doesn't feel the best on my skin. I'm hoping it get's better with age. It's packed full of 700-fill down so it's really warm. The two way zipper is a nice touch. This parka is warm enough to be a belay coat however it's too heavy and large to bring into the backcountry. I'm 6'2" 215 lbs and the large is a good size for me. I'll echo what other reviewers have said - It does run a little big. Even if you account for extra layering underneath it's still a little big. If you are in between sizes or even close to in-between sizes you may want to size down on this one. My main gripe with this coat, and the reason that I didn't give it five stars is because the hood is just not adjustable enough for me. The front cinch adjustment just isn't enough to make the hood fit my head right. No matter what I do the hood is in my face more than I'd like. I think this is a great casual parka that would work well for wearing around town, 4 season camping (front country), apré ski, easy-to-access belay sessions, and winter travel.
