Tacx NEO Motion Plates

The Neo, Neo 2, and Neo 2T are all advanced smart trainers, but they have distinct features. The Neo is the original model, while the Neo 2 offers improved responsiveness and quieter operation. The Neo 2T builds on these features with enhanced connectivity options and a more compact design. Depending on your training needs, you may prefer one model over the others for its specific enhancements.

Motion Plates are designed to attach to your smart trainer and allow your bike to move side-to-side. This mimics the natural movement of riding outdoors, making your indoor cycling experience feel more realistic. By using Motion Plates, you can improve your balance and engage more muscles, leading to a more effective workout.

Multidirectional movement refers to the ability to lean and shift your body while cycling, similar to how you would on a real bike. This feature, enabled by Motion Plates, allows for a more authentic riding experience, helping you develop better balance and core strength. It can also make your workouts more enjoyable and engaging.

Smart trainers are advanced stationary bike trainers that connect to apps and devices to create interactive training experiences. They adjust resistance based on virtual terrain, track your performance metrics, and often allow for connectivity with other devices. This technology helps you simulate outdoor riding conditions and can enhance your overall training effectiveness.

The claimed weight of the Motion Plates, which is 3 pounds and 6 ounces, is important for several reasons. Knowing the weight helps you understand how portable and easy to handle the equipment will be. If you plan to move your trainer frequently or store it away after use, a lighter weight can make a significant difference in convenience.

Yes, you can use your smart trainer without Motion Plates. However, using them enhances the realism of your indoor cycling experience by allowing for side-to-side movement. If you prefer a more authentic ride and want to improve your balance, adding Motion Plates is highly recommended, but they are not mandatory for using the trainer.
