Singi Down Jacket

Most shiny puffies prove that super light and super weak are super synonymous, so don't take any chances with the durable and dependable Fjallraven Men's Singi Down Jacket. Its down insulation ensures the lofty coziness that puffy lovers look for, and the G-1000 shell prevents the down from seeping through after the first season. Fjallraven waxed the shell with eco-friendly Greenland wax for reliable resistance against snowfall and brisk breezes. The best part about waxed clothes is you can reapply wax in various thicknesses for versatile protection from winter's furious conditions to spring's subtle rainfalls. The Singi Down Jacket also features G-1000 HeavyDuty reinforcements at the lower back and shoulders for long-lasting durability.

Fantastic and Robust

I wore mine into the Arctic Circle and stood outside for hours at night. I wore layers underneath but still it’s an impressive coat especially for the cost. I’ve also worn it through many a cold day in upper New England. It is heavy but subsequently bombproof. I wear a medium in everything but Fjallraven. I’ve consistently bought a small in everything they make jacket wise and it fits as you expect an expedition weight parka to fit, so slightly oversized. Even with this item being a small I had plenty of room for 2-3 layers underneath. It’s not really meant to be super stylish however I think it looks great. In regards to true Arctic and cold or severe weather parkas this coat only has competition from a Canada Goose Expedition or Snow Mantra (which are triple to cost) Overall, fantastic coat. Make sure you get a color you love because you’ll probably have this coat a very long time.

Perfect combination of Warmth and Style

I had enough of winter jackets falling apart after one or two winter seasons so did the research with a focus on warmth, quality and style. This ticks all the boxes and well priced with the Northern hemisphere end of season sales! It's the start of winter here in Australia so looking forward to the resumption of outdoor sports and watching Footy in comfort. I am 6ft 3in and 205lbs. The large is just right. So pleased that Backcountry ship to Oz.

I've got to admit, this is probably the most expensive article of clothing that I've ever purchased. I'd been wearing Carhartt duct cloth jackets and heavy Levi denim jackets for the last ten or so winters and decided it was finally time to upgrade. My number one intent for buying a new winter coat was to get something that would last - through any circumstance - for several years to come. I tried on all of Fjallraven's winter coats and decided on this one. The fit is tapered, but not too snug, the down interior provides exceptional warmth, and the G1000 exterior is tough and has the ability to be waxed. It's cut a little long - it covers down to the upper quarter of my thighs, and the hood is large and warm. This jacket is bad ass! Bite the bullet, pay the $$$, and never regret the money spent.

How is the sleeve length, long I hope?

Is the hood removable on this jacket? Thanks!
