Boa Handlebar Pack
When our rides start to get longer and cover more weather systems, we need the storage space to carry all our fuel and layers in a compact manner. EVOC's Boa Handlebar Pack provides just that in an innovative package. Unlike most handlebar packs that attach with a maze of webbing and hook-and-loop straps, EVOC uses a single Boa dial, which tightens two straps. This simple design makes attaching and removing the pack far faster than other systems, so we can get on the road far sooner and with less fuss. The attachment also moves the bag out from the handlebar to better clear brake and shift cables.
The pack's double-sided roll-top design both allows us to control the volume of the bag and access contents from either side. When the skies grow dark with clouds, we can trust the waterproof fabric will keep our things high and dry, while the durable nylon will last through miles and miles of off-road riding.

I purchased the handlebar bag and returned it after seeing it in person. I think it's a shame that there are no pictures of what the bag looks like when it's open and you're trying to put stuff in it. The bag is good for what it is but it's not what most people will want for a handlebar bag. It's difficult to get things in and out of the bag. You'll probably have to assume that you'll repack everything every time you go into it. This *is not* a well-designed day bag that you'd want for a long ride to hold food and a layer. This is good for the narrow scenario when you want a small waterproof bag that you'll access rarely but still happy losing a fair amount of grip space on your handlebars. It's also pricy relative to other bags which have more utility.

I am primarily a racer who loves to train and just getting into bikepacking. I bought this bag in addition to a larger handlebar pack mainly with bikepacking in mind - taking that one on bigger trips and this one on shorter ones. FWIW I got this item on sale for like $90 - for full-price I probably would have second thoughts. The boa closure and mounting system are super nice and mount really solidly to normal 42cm road drop bars, which I have on both my road and CX bikes. The roll closures take some practice because if you seal them too tightly before rolling up they can trap air and the bag will be too bulky. I can see this bag being really useful for two main types of ride: First, for an overnight summer bikepacking trip, this would be great. You could fit a compact sleeping bag and a light change of clothes in here, or a compact tent and a small tool roll, or some such combo. It's not gonna replace a larger handlebar bag with real capacity for those multi-day trips though. The second application would be for a long all-day road ride. The first ride I did with this was a quick-ish solo century, and I kept a couple extra tubes, a mini pump, some extra snacks, my wallet, and a gilet in there. Since it's waterproof you could throw a dry baselayer in there as well. An extra tire if you're doing a gravel ride on a road bike is a pretty good idea too. It's not huge and blocky so it won't be a massive issue aerodynamically. For this type of ride I wish it had a quick-access zipper or mesh pocket, so I'm thinking of fitting something like this together myself. But otherwise it's a great pack that's expensive but works really well and feels well-made.
