Women's Blue Run & Training Shorts

Think about how and where you run: a 2–3 inch inseam is ideal for speedwork and hot weather, while a 5-inch hits the sweet spot for everyday training. Longer 6–8 inch options or half-tights offer extra coverage and help prevent chafing on long or high-intensity sessions.

On long, humid days go with longer shorts or compression half-tights since 6–8 inch legs and compressive liners reduce chafing and hold muscles steady. Look for breathable synthetics like nylon/polyester blends or even merino wool blends plus UPF 30–50+ on some models to manage moisture and sun exposure.

Measure your natural waist and hips and try the shorts on, then perform squats and lunges to check waistband stability and seam placement. Choose styles with a wider, adjustable elastic waistband and flat seams if you notice any rolling or chafing during movement.

Short, fast workouts usually favor split hems and shorter inseams (2–3 inches) for maximum stride freedom, while 2-in-1 shorts with compressive liners provide extra support and anti-chafe protection. If you want light compression and breathability for tempo runs, half-tights like the Janji Pace Half-Tights are a solid option.

Most training shorts offer phone-friendly side pockets and zippered secure pockets sized for a phone, keys, or gels with minimal bounce during runs. If you need lots of storage, models like the Oiselle Toolbelt Roga Shorts are designed with multiple pockets and a secure fit to keep items in place.
