Green Mountain Bike Grips

Lock-on grips fasten with Allen screws or clamps for a secure hold during impacts and high-vibration riding, and they need the standard 22.2mm handlebar alignment for proper installation. Push-on or slip-on grips slide onto the bar and save weight, so they’re a good fit for XC racing or lighter trail days where minimal bulk matters.

Silicone grips like the ESI Fit XC or Esigrips offer superior wet-weather traction and tend to cling to bare or gloved hands better than other materials. They can wear faster than rubber, so if durability is a top priority consider a tacky rubber option instead.

Grip diameters commonly range from about 28mm to 35mm, with smaller diameters suiting small hands and larger diameters providing more cushion for big hands or long rides. Ergonomic models often include hand-size selectors or low-profile wings to fine-tune fit and contact area for comfort.

They often are, because dual-sided clamps and secure locking systems help prevent slippage during big impacts and sustained vibration typical of enduro and downhill. Models like the Ergon GE1 Evo and padded lock-ons provide added stability and support when you’re pushing hard on technical descents.

Ergonomic shapes with wings or tapered profiles, such as the Ergon GE1 Evo, redistribute pressure and can noticeably reduce numbness on extended tours or rough singletrack. Pairing that geometry with vibration-absorbing compounds or thicker padding — like you find in the Wolf Tooth Fat Paw or DMR Deathgrip — further helps damp hand fatigue.
