Men's Purple Snowboard Gloves & Mittens

Think about how and where you ride. Mittens give maximum warmth for frigid days below single digits, while full-finger gloves work better above freezing or when you need dexterity for buckles or a phone; lobster and convertible styles split the difference for mixed conditions.

For very cold resort days aim toward heavier fills in the 100–200g range, while 60–100g insulations suit warmer or high-activity sessions. The Wells Lamont Style 1199W uses 100g Thinsulate and reinforced leather, which is a solid choice if you want reliable warmth with wet-weather grip.

A proper fit is snug but not restrictive, with enough finger length to avoid bunching and a thumb-to-palm arch that feels natural. Look for pre-curved fingers and gauntlet cuffs that extend past your jacket sleeve so snow stays out while you move.

Waterproofing around or above 10,000mm with breathability over 10,000g/m2/24hr handles most wet-snow days; GORE-TEX ePTFE inserts and HydraHyde coatings are common reliable options. Burton Gore-Tex Gloves offer that kind of breathable water resistance, paired with DWR-finished shells to shed slush.

Helpful extras include wrist leashes to prevent lost gloves, nose wipes on the thumb for quick use, and avalanche beacon pockets for backcountry travel. If you want durability plus natural water resistance, Vector leather models with wax-coated goatskin palms provide tough, long-lasting grip while many mittens add touchscreen-compatible thumbs for short tasks.
