Girls' Orange Snow Jackets

Puffer jackets with high-loft insulation are best for cold, stationary play like sledding because they trap heat. They’re offered in sizes for ages 5 to teens and can provide core protection down to 0°F depending on loft.

A 10K–20K waterproof rating is a good balance of breathability and protection for kids on the slopes. For example, the Obermeyer Teen Girl's Isla Jacket uses 10K waterproofing and sealed seams to keep snow and moisture out.

Consider a relaxed or loose fit to allow room for layering and growth, especially if she’ll wear base layers underneath. Outer lengths around 26 inches with inner measurements near 23 inches, plus adjustable hems and helmet-compatible hoods, help extend usable fit.

On the slopes, helmet-compatible hoods, powder skirts, and multiple sealed pockets are key to staying dry and protected during falls and long days. Models like the 686 Girls Hydra Insulated Jacket focus on snowboard-specific durability and those practical features.

Fleece-lined jackets are lighter and less bulky, so they work well for high-movement activities and make a good midlayer under a shell. Insulated options—either synthetic for wet conditions or down for dry warmth—are better for very cold days; the Freedom Insulated Jacket, with up to 50% loft insulation, is a good example of a warmer choice.
