Excellent
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I’ve put this through the wringer and waited a bit to leave my review. The group as a whole is amazing and that is compared to owning both red and Di2. When compared the Campagnolo shifting is equal to Shimano and dramatically faster than SRAM. The build quality is the highest of all the brands which you will immediately notice when seeing in person the group set is gorgeous and unique. I was hesitant at first but extremely satisfied.

Great gearing & shifting with Record

- Size Bought:
- 45/29
I went to Utah to ride in the Wasatch mountains for a few days this summer and decided I was just suffering too much in my 34 x 34 on 10-12% grades while the guys with their 32 x 40 mountain bikes seemed a bit more relaxed. I ordered the 45/29 from Backcountry and it arrived in time for me to get it installed in time to climb Haleakala the next week. Its beautiful as one would expect from Campy. More importantly, matched with my 2023 mechanical Record derailleurs, it shifts perfectly. A couple of things: 1. Backcountry posted the wrong photo so I did not realize it did not fit my Record BB (it showed the previous generation Super Record, with “Super” in red script, which does) 2. The two piece axle has left hand thread but don’t assume (like I did,) that Record does as well. It does not. 3. Paired with my 11-34 Chorus cassette it could use higher gearing. In 2024 Campy made a10-29 but not a 10-34. When I do not need the 34, I use a 10-29 with a two link shorter chain.
