    Avalon Bib Pant

Allow the Burton Avalon Bib Pant to be your ethereal island of dryness in the middle of a deep powder day, and soggy pants will never send you home early again. Like its mythical namesake, the Avalon provides a place of refuge as you surf through bottomless white stuff, with a full bib to stop snow from sneaking its way into your layers.

Burton constructed the entire pant out of its 2-layer Dryride fabric so moisture won't soak through when you're earning free refills on a storm day, lining it with soft, stretchy taffeta to wick moisture with a little help from inner thigh vents. Fleece-lined hand pockets keep your fingers warm when you're waiting for your friends to show up, and a chest pocket provides easy access to essentials you want to keep close. Adjust the bib straps to get the right fit, and use the drop seat construction to get back outside faster during a quick midday nature call. Best of all, Burton nailed the relaxed fit of the Avalon, so you can enjoy riding in a pant that fits like a trendy pair of baggy overalls but still moves with you on the mountain.

    • Stylish, functional shell bib pant ready for deep turns
    • 2-layer fabric is waterproof and breathable for reliable dryness
    • Full-coverage bib with drop-seat construction makes pit stops easy
    • Multiple pockets lend a secure place for on-mountain essentials
    • Mesh-lined thigh vents allow for easy temperature regulation
    • Regular fit provides unrestricted motion
    • Item #BUR01G1

    Really wanted to love these

I thought these bibs were adorable and I loved the long length (I'm 5'11, 36inseam), but unfortunately the zippers and snaps were a major issue. Every time I bent down I would come undone and after a ski run or two would find I was completely unzipped and only held up by the powder skirt on my coat. I am not an aggressive skier and these were plenty big, so just appears to be a product design flaw.

    Awesome bibs

      Burton Bib review

These bibs are awesome, comfortable, adjustable and just enough to keep warm without being overwhelmed with being too warm. Also not bulky and just the right length for my height (about 5’6).

      There goes my hero

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
      • Fit: True to size

A modern miracle. Didn't have the issue with the snaps and the range of motion is flawless. They breathe really well when needed, honestly what's not to like? So functional. Two thumbs up for style, comfort, and warmth.

      VERY DISAPPOINTED

My husband bought these bibs for me for my birthday this past summer and I am super sad to say that these are the biggest waste of money. I first purchased a size medium but they were way way too big so I sent them back and got a size samll. I tried to tough it out for the season to see if it was just me but these pants do not stay buttoned. I can't tell you how many times I was teaching where my butt flap was completely open. The buttons NEVER stay buttoned whether it is bending over to put on your boots, sitting on the chair lift, getting into your board or even just turning the wrong way. I would highly suggest purchasing a different brand.

      Disappointed not to love these!

As with many reviewers, the side snaps on these bibs come undone with basically any bending motion. Fastening your bindings? Unsnap. Sitting on a chairlift? Unsnap. Bending over to pick something up? Unsnap. Snowboarding down literally any trail (maybe with the exception of select green runs, if you have a particularly upright stance)? Unsnap. After that, the zippers start to come down. I have finished several runs where I get to the bottom and both zippers are COMPLETELY unzipped. It’s especially awesome when someone else points it out before I can adjust 🤣. I love the look of these and I definitely got the right size- plenty of room to layer and they are loose fitting even with my heaviest base.

These are simply poorly designed. I am trying them out with some heavy duty safety pins this weekend - wish me luck!

My wife has 3 pair of these bibs... here is her review

I think everyone who says they wont stay button and zipped are getting too small of a size. If you get the appropriate size for you (the size you can bend over in) the buttons will not unpop and the zipper will stay up. Snow pants are not suppose to fit like jeans... they should have enough room to move and bend over in. If you dont like a baggier fit when you are in the correct size then these might not be for you.

The fact that I can unzip the butt to take a bathroom break is amazing and so easy. I wont get a bib that doesnt make it this easy to use the bathroom.

My only complaint is that the pockets don™t have a zipper closure.

Get the right size and you should be fine.

        Love them, but Need improvement

These are my first pair of bibs since I was a little kid and they are everything I was hoping they’d be! High enough to keep the snow out. I get real cold and usually wear 2 base layers and I did that with these as well and I was so warm! Waterproof is super reliable. I am stoked on these pants. In an XS at my size they are flattering but also have wiggle room for riding and they’re actually a little long on me but they don’t drag when I’ve got my boots on. I usually am a size S but these run big in my opinion. I was swimming in the smalls. I saw other reviews saying the buttons would undue and the zippers would fall down while riding. I rode today for 7 hrs in 2-3 FEET of powder on all different terrain and these pants held up, stayed zipped, and kept me dry. With certain movements, I would feel a button on one side or the other pop but never both of them and the zipper never fell. I made sure my zippers were in the holding position pointing down and it was golden, I checked them multiple times throughout the day and they were always up. Despite sitting in the powder waist deep for minutes on end at times, I had no wet spots or anything. I will say the chest pocket is a bit tight for my iPhoneX but it was a great spot for my epic pass. All in all these are great pants so far!

        *UPDATED*
I have now had these completely unbutton and flop down on me twice while riding deep powder through somewhat open tree sections. Not sure if the buttons are wearing down? Still love these bibs but Burton needs to put an actual button on them and not snap closures! They should also have zippered pockets. Still love them, will still probably buy another pair. Just updating for accuracy! My plan is to have an actual button sewn in after the season is over and we should be good to go!

        Love them, but Need improvement

        Not the best bib :(

I was super excited to get these bibs, but unfortunately the design of them is pretty disappointing. They fit perfect when I was standing up but when you bend over the buttons unsnap and the zippers come undone. They are cute, and fit me well, given I am so tall, but very poor design on the button and zipper placement. I will be returning these and buying a different brand and style bib.

Cute but zippers don't stay put

I really want to love these pants but my Patagonia and Marmot bibs were well worth the money because I was guaranteed to stay dry from the powder. The main issue is the side zippers unzip too easily after enough bending and side movement with snowboarding, even just bending to reach my bindings or adjust my pants. When I am standing, the pants are not too snug either, i can still fit with a couple of baselayers underneath and not feel smothered. Strapping sometimes is annoying and not as simple to drop your pants to take a quick potty break outside. The hip pockets are deep, but i wouldn't risk putting anything i wouldn't want to lose while riding in them since there's no zipper to secure anything in.

The good stuff, the color is dark rose is gorgeous and not too light to get dirty too easily. There's a button at the bottom to fold up and hold the bottom of the pants so they're not dragging on the ground (essential to us shorter ladies), thus saving the integrity of the material. The chest pocket is great for stowing my wallet, lip gloss, and sometimes my phone.

I kind of regret this purchase and wish i hadn't sided with my vanity because these pants are not super practical.

Cute but zippers don't stay put

        Don’t buy if you snowboard

Tried these on, and they fit really well other than the crotch area hung pretty low. If I wasn’t going to layer a lot I would’ve wanted a small probably. The front pockets don’t have zippers either, so I was stressing about my pass falling out, but I decided to wear them on the mountain anyways to see what’s up.
Every time I strapped in the zippers would come down, and every time I spun or jumped they came down. So multiple times I was having to stop and readjust. I got lots of compliments, but they are definitely too much of a pain to ride in :( maybe a beginner snowboarder would be okay, but if you’re doing anything but cruising I do not recommend.

I wanted so badly to love these pants. SO SO badly. I ignored some of the reviews that talked about the snaps coming undone while bending over, oh my gosh was that ever a mistake. Not only did the snaps come undone when I would bend over to mess when my bindings, but the zippers came down too. At one point I mooned people on the mountain because the back half of these bibs came down when bending to stand up on my board or crashing in an awkward position. I had long underwear on underneath, but still...what an annoyance. I couldn't get off the mountain fast enough to change out of these after suffering through messing with the zipper all day long. Luckily my brother had an extra pair of snow pants I have been able to borrow throughout our trip. I am so disappointed because these pants are so cute and so comfortable. What a disappointment, Burton.

        5'11 and these fit...say what!!

So excited to find a pair of women's bibs that fit my tall frame. 5'11, 150# and the Medium fit perfectly. I am looking forward to getting out in the snow to see how they perform. A little concerned about the snap closures based on other feedback - hope they stay put because I'm loving the way they look & feel.

I love these bibs, they have a flattering slim fit and the rose brown color is super cute! They are lightweight and have kept me dry. The only complaint I have is that they do run a little small. I am always a medium and they are a little tight to bend forward in them. They were also consistently unzipping down the sides the first day I wore them. But after they were worn in a little I had no issues.

        Crappy Snappys!

        • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I wanted so badly to love these pants. They are super cute and warm.... except every time I bent over the snaps came undone and the zipper wasn't far behind it. They fit perfect standing up or sitting down but definitely not good for snowboarders who are always leaning forward to do their bindings. The buttons felt flimsy and thats the only thing keeping the zipper taught. I wasn't able to ride in them and have to send them back unfortunately. They may be good for skiing? Backcountry was GREAT with helping me set up my return though. I will definitely order through them again.... but Burton quality seems to be going down hill.

My girlfriend just bought these and the snaps are giving her the same problem, along with the zipper. Apparently, if the zipper is flicked all the way down, the pants don't unzip. We'll see if the zipper stays flipped down next time we ride. She rode the first part of the morning with her base layer hanging out haha

        Obsessed! Ready for Winter!

It's been a long time since I wore bibs but I was ready to give it a chance. I absolutely love the fit and look of these bibs! I'm 5'4 and 130 lbs and went with a small. They may be a bit long but I can roll the bottom of the leg up and make it work. I love the weight and feel of these.

Can't wait for snow to use these!

A good fit but slim through the hip and thigh area. If you have bit hips or thighs beware. Style is awesome and they are super comfortable.

I originally ordered a Large, but exchanged them for a medium. These fit great! The elastic in the back make movement easy. The “trap door” in the back is fantastic when stopping by the bathroom. I like how the straps cross in the back, they make you feel secure (i.e. no snow sneaks in). They are warm enough with a base layer in 20-30 degree weather, I never got cold (and I’m always cold).
