Just what I needed

Was looking for a good base layer for my ski bib which is basically just a trilaminate waterproof shell. I am weighing about 77kg/170 lb at the moment (I’m 5ft 9” tall) and usually wear waist size 34 if I weigh anywhere between 74-78kg (36 the times I’ve been above). Age 46 male, moderately active (mostly indoor climbing) and was a little in doubt of sizing. I ordered Large and it is perfect. It also feels like just the right compromise between ski-level warmth and enough flexibility/mobility for the sport, while not too crowded with buttons and zippers to use as a base layer. Will be off next week and can’t wait to test them in the snow

Perfect mid layer
I layer these over my base layer and under the winter alpine pants. The are puffy but hardly take up any space. Super warm.

Keep warm for guiding over
Keep warm for guiding over 6,000m to 6,500m but side Zipper will be more comfortable for take out during the day.

More versatile ...
and more breathable than I thought they'd be. Either layered with a base layer or not, under hard shell, soft shell or BD Forged pants these have been great for cold weather (below zero mornings) and yet I've kept them on even when the day warmed up. Although not for high output touring.

Light weight and comfy.
326 grams for a size Medium. Normal BD fit. Good stretch. Had to return because no side zips as previously advertised.
