Why We Like The Speedplay Comp Pedals
Wahoo designed the new generation of Speedplay pedals for newer riders to get to feel what it’s like to ride best in class performance. The Speedway Comp Pedals are aggressively priced and built for function, offering the same amount of adjustment as the higher-end package with the same world-class pedigree power transfer. We install the comp pedals on any bike we own, knowing the weight difference is negligible but the power we’re throwing down goes directly from our legs to the drivetrain just like any Speedplay pedal.

Wahoo / Old Speedplay compatibility, yes, no ???
The comp pedals are really great. Very easy to walk in with the new clip surround. I would have given them 5 stars except for the following experience. I've been a Speedplay / Wahoo user for over ten years. These pedals give me the side to side (yaw) movement I need to give my knees the rotation they need. I was not surprised but mildly disappointed that the older Speedplay clips on my shoes are not completely compatible with the new Wahoo, Comp Pedals. While I was able to clip in without any problem the clips would not release from the pedals. After riding around in circles for a few minutes trying to release my shoe from the pedal I eventually rode up to a car and while leaning on the car released the Velcro shoe straps, got out of the shoes and walked up the driveway into the garage. While everything I read on-line seemed to say the new clips were reverse compatible it does not appear to be the case. For the life of me I couldn't figure out how to release the clip from the pedal while my foot was in the shoe. I had to get a small screw driver into the spring clip to release the shoe from the older Speedplay pedal. If I am doing something wrong please let me know what it is. As I said above the new clip surround makes walking much easier and safer. While disappointed I still think these are the best clip-in pedal system I've ever used and I've tried Shimano road clips, SPD, and even had the plastice piece with a slot that locked on to the pedal with a strap.I have purchased a second pair so road and gravel bike have Wahoo / Speedplay pedals.

I've used Speedplay pedals for
I've used Speedplay pedals for years, this is the first time buying new pedals since Wahoo obtained the product. Pretty much the same, but I really like the roller bearing upgrade. Not needing to lube the bearing even week or so is really nice. Thanks Wahoo, now we'll see how long they last.

I have been using Speedplay
I have been using Speedplay for several years now and I love them. The upgraded Wahoo Speedplay is a welcome improvement over the older version of Speedplay. First, they do not have to be maintained. I didn’t have a problem with that except I lost one of the grease port screws somehow. When I started to look at the new version of Wahoo Speedplay, I noticed that they changed the design and went with steel on the wearing edges of the peddle. When I looked at my old Speedplay I did notice some ware on the edges. Problem solved. I opted to replace my legacy Speedplay with the new Wahoo Speedplay peddles and never looked back.

Great pedals and cleats but sparse information.
I'm enjoying these pedals and cleats. I purchased them to have Speedplay pedals on two different trikes. I had used Speedplay X-5 pedals for years. I finally tried the cleats that came in this package on the X-5 pedals. They seem to work fine. These pedals and cleats saved my knees for riding. My only complaint is the lack of detailed information about backward compatibility of cleats and pedals and detailed comparison of different Speedplay cleats. It would also be nice to be able to purchase the cleats separately from the pedals. Purchasing the pedals separately from the cleats would not have worked for me this time. The X series V2 cleats I have are not compatible with the new pedals. I wasn't able to determine that without purchasing a whole new set.

Great product.
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I bought two sets of these cleats. They will protect the cleats much more than the Speedplay cleats which I used for over twenty years.

I’ve been riding speed play
I’ve been riding speed play since 2010 . Prior to that I’ve ridden look pedals and Shimano , they are second to none . I ride roads about 5000 miles a year and they are the best . No wasted pedal strokes , they never come out of lock unless you try . I really like them . Jon
