Best boots I've owned!

I bought these as a size 13 wide (I'm normally a size 12-12.5) and they've been the best boots I've ever worn. I've had them for about a year now and have hiked in desert, mountains, rainforest, and snow and they've been comfortable and dry in every condition. After breaking them in I haven't gotten any blisters and after a year they haven't showed any signs of wear and tear, they've held up great. I want to get another pair, but they haven't had 13 wides in stock for a while. They have good traction in all conditions and great support and protection. I highly recommend them!

Not Really Designed Properly for Hiking

Seems Vasque changed the last sizing again, so make sure to measure size and width directly rather than purchase based on previous Vasque size/width. Toebox and width are good, but size is small (comparatively). I normally wear a US 12, but have to purchase a 13 in Vasque and toe is still 1/2-inch from tip. Width seems to have increased over the Vasque Talus AT, so these boots are 'roomy', more like goulashes than hiking boots. The interface between the lower portion and the upper mesh portion seems mis-designed, and combined with the lacing pattern, facilities causes correct compression at in-step and tendons above the ankle - but doesn't allow for ankle support directly. Too much material in the ankle area doesn't allow pull-up. Lacing pattern is contoured so there's a lack of lacking pull-up across the transition between the instep (below the ankle) and the lower leg. The result is a compression across the instep and tendons of the lower leg, but no support for the ankle itself. Probably ringlets rather than faux leather loop would have been a better choice for lacing pull-up in this area (as Vasque had done on legacy hiking boots). Overall, the construction seems to be good, and after two hikes I can say the footbed and sole work well together to cushion the bottom of the foot. Would I recommend this product? Definitely better than the Talus AT, but for long-haul trekking over steep or extended inclines and declines, rocky/stoney terrain the Torre AT GTX doesn't provide enough ankle support.
