    Inhale the trail.

With a build like an athletic shoe, the Vasque Men's Inhaler GTX Hiking Boots finds the common ground between trail running and hiking. Thanks to the 1.4mm PU-coated leather upper with its abrasion-resistant 3D mesh walls, this boot maintains a robust durability while still breathing exceptionally well. The Gore-Tex Extended Comfort lining further elevates the level of breathability, allowing the Inhalers to excel during hot weather hikes while still denying any water from seeping in when you encounter a surprise rainstorm out on the trail. If rain does happen to find you, the Inhaler's trail-running traits are revealed in its lightweight design, allowing for a speedy escape. Outfitted with Vibram Megagrip outsoles with an aggressive lug pattern and lightweight EVA midsoles with TPU instep shanks, these boots will let you comfortably pound over unpredictable terrain with sure-footedness.

    Great Boot

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Height: 5'9"
    • Weight: 175lbs

Very comfortable and light. There wasn't really a break in period. I wore them around the house a few days before a big hike and they were great.

I like these lightweight, cool boots.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small

These are really nice hiking boots. They are super lightweight and I can feel the air circulating on hot days. My feet are much happier in general after wearing these compared to heavier / less breathable boots. They aren't even broken in yet completely and they are very comfy.

I bought them because of the specs, not the looks. The orange/ gray are ok, but they look a little

    Great Hiking Boot

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: 13
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 230lbs

Had a pair of the Breeze before these and loved them except my toes hit going on steep down hills(size 12). So when I ordered these I went one size bigger(size 13). They fit perfect. They are lighter and more breathable than the Breeze. Ran these up and down the rocks and they stuck very well even on the wet ones. Went through a few creek crossings and my feet stayed dry. Mud cleaned out well. Would defiantly recommend these. I hike mostly southern California and they are perfect for that weather. Hiked in the Sierras where the temps where in the mid to high 40's and feet stayed warm enough.

    Great hiking shoes

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 9.5
    • Height: 5'8"
    • Weight: 150lbs

Simply put, these are great shoes, well built, flexible, adjustable, ankle supported and great looking. I am 67yrs old, so my feet have a little "spread" in width, not uncommon. So I add 0.5 size increase to my former size 9 and always order a shoe available in size 9.5 , as these are. Result, perfect fit with just a little break in period, one or two hikes and they are fitting snug and comfortable for all day hikes up elevations and down. They breath nicely too. These deserved their No. 1 ranking in the annual new gear reviews in the Backpacker magazine edition 2016. I advise talking with the customer reps at Backcountry as they helped with important questions I had, great expertise. Buy with confidence. Happy hiking.

    Too narrow

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs small

I wanted to like this boot but I just could not get by with the toebox being too narrow. It's light and seems fairly well built but the narrow toe end and lack of arch support forced me to return them.

    Great boot

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 10
    • Height: 5'9"
    • Weight: 160lbs

I replaced a pair of NF hiking boots that cramped my toes with these. I've found them to be completely comfortable. I've also walked through quite a bit of water with them, nothing over 2 - 3", however, but my feet stayed dry in the rain and crossing streams.

    Awesome lightweight hiking boot

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 11.5
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 155lbs

I bought these hiking boots a month ago after they were recommended to me by a customer service representative, because I was looking for hiking boots that were waterproof and lightweight, but tough. These fit the bill. The product description is very accurate. I've taken these on half a dozen hikes so far and they have proven to be very comfortable and grippy on all types of terrain, rocky, sandy, and through shallow creeks.
