Thule designed the RodVault 4 to help maximize our time on the water with a secure rooftop case to keep our rods safely strung up, and ready to fish. Using aircraft-grade aluminum tubes lined with non-scuffing plastic we can easily stow a complete rod without the worry of any rattling or bumps on the road to our favorite fishing hole. The reinforced nylon reel housing is ultra-tough and boasts an industrial-strength locking system for confident security. The nylon mounting clamps maintain a stronghold and also accommodate small padlocks for extra insurance that our rods stay right where we left them.

It’s great, but……
I love having this on my truck and my rods at the ready. As a guide it’s nice to have the rods I need on hand rugged and ready at moment’s notice, especially when I have to swap the rods in the boat. The only issue I have with this is that my 7wts barely fit and my 8wts don’t fit at all.

Awesome rig with a very minor flaw
Very happy with this rod carrier I wish the latch system was a little bit more stout I don’t have a lot of confidence in the current system so I wrap a strap around it for peace of mind when traveling any distance

Falls apart easily
Lost 2 of the rod clamps already, they just fall off i guess from normal driving. Are you supposed to remove the rack with each use?

Rod Vault 4 flyrods carrier.
Purchased the Thule Rod Vault to carry rigged flyrods. Quality is excellent as is security. Mounts are not compatible w Truck Trac Rack bars and this wasn't obvious at time of purchase. I had to forgo the included bar clamps and bolt the RodVault directly to the bars. Also the base clamp covers do not stay in place securely. This design needs to be improved.

Great Functionality
When I first put it on my SQ5 I was disappointed at the aesthetics. The functionality won me over.

Rod Vault 4
It is exactly what I was looking for. It works great and was pretty easy to put together and install. My entire family uses it with no problem and they love the fact that they can rig up at home and not have to put everything together at the river.

Amazing fly fishing carrier
This is exactly what I needed. It was very easy to put together and to install on my roof racks. You hardly notice the rack on the roof while driving as it is very quiet. I highly recommend this rack.

Great except
I love my rack except I agree with a previous post about damaging equipment. I would recommend lining the tubes with non abrasive coating and padding the box some.
