    Refresher USB Boot Heater

Not only is starting out the day with wet boots or gloves an uncomfortable drag, but you know you'll pay the price later when these soggy environments start to breed stinky bacteria. Eliminate both of these problems with the help of the Therm-ic Refresher Boot Heater with Timer, which dries soggy footwear and gloves with gentle hot air and battles bacteria (and the funky smells they create) with UV light.

    Best option on the market

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

    This is so awesome!
I was headed to Jackson hole to spend many consecutive days ski touring for a backcountry event and I knew my boots would be wet, and then not have much time in negative degree weather to dry out overnight before needing them again the next day. This thing is magical, it plugs in to the wall and has a built in timer so you can set it and go to bed. It compacts easy and has awesome hoses that are long and reach down into ski boots well. I have used it more than 20 times now and it will dry my boots if they are sopping wet in 3 hrs which is the middle timer setting. It eliminates any stench you would normally get with damp or wet boots as well. This also has a USB port on the front of it for you to charge out of which is super awesome to make it more of a tool you need to get. Don't waste your money on anything else, this is it right here!

*idea: make it power-able by a power bank instead of an outlet? would be nice for times when you don't have access to a wall.

    Best on the market!

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Gave em as a gift to my roomie. She loves that the UV light kills all the bad smells, and that it keeps them dry after a long day skiing powder (of course). The timer is a nice touch, so you can set and forget :)

    Timer is a must

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love this boot heater. The timer is definitely worth the extra small amount of cash. That way you can set it and forget it.

As a daily user of my ski boots, it is important that I dry them out completely for each new day.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Stuff like this never works the way it’s meant to, right? Breaks easily. Isn’t powerful enough to dry wet and cold boots, right? Nope. Get these. I bought them for the family trip to Montana and they were the gear MVP. Simple, easy, effective.

If you are doing research - just buy it

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I do a lot of research before buying things. I was looking for a boot dryer because I sweat a lot and I didn't want my new boots to become smelly. I asked a "boot guy" how to stop them smelling and he said "dry your boots low and slow, get a boot dryer that dries them over at least 6 hours).

Reasons I can recommend this one:
    1. Timer - options for 1,2 or 6 hours drying and it switches off automagically
    2. Size - this packs down pretty small and is good for taking with you
    3. Performance - I have used this for 3 or so years and it always dries my boots well - it also has stopped my boots smelling. On a ski holiday we were drying all the boots (let my friends use the 1hr setting, and I ran mine overnight on the 6 hour).

    Things to be aware of:
    1. it's a little noisy - but in my experience they all are.
    2. the light is super bright and it shines whenever drying - meaning it can be a pain in a hotel room when trying to sleep. Personally, I just put something over the light.

    Dry Boots/Gloves

I ski both days most weekends and this is a great tool to help ensure my boots (or gloves) are dry Sunday morning. I opted for this more expensive version with the timer so I don't have to worry about turning it off. If this price is too high for you to justify, check out the other:

      Best there is

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've been using this to dry out my ski boots and hiking shoes. works like a charm. One reviewer mentioned the fragrance, it kind of smells like new plastic, which I consider to be a massive improvement over what my ski boots normally smell like. The timer is key

      This dryer is awesome

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Like that it has a timer. Small enough to pack for travel. Works well for ski boots and also use it dry out wetsuit booties to prevent the stink.

Dry boots and gloves , turns itself off

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Pretty straight forward - this does a nice job of getting my boots and gloves dry after a day of skiing, and the timer is a great feature. I can set this up and not have to worry about remembering to turn it off, especially if I want to go somewhere while its running.

The fan's not completely silent, but certainly not obtrusively loud by any means.

      Functional and durable dryer

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've owned the previous model of this boot dryer for over 10 years and have decided to upgrade to this one with a built in timer. The product is effective and durable and the timer eliminates the need to worry about leaving the dryer on all night. Some reviews have mentioned the smell of the dryer but I hardly notice it and it's much better than the musty smell from my old boots.

      Solved My Problem!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have a serious issue when it comes to sweaty feet. Ski boots or not. I'm serious, my feet sweat an absurd amount. Naturally, my ski boots suffered from this curse. This boot dryer works, and it works well. I absolutely love the timer on the heater, because without it, I would likely forget to unplug it. Definitely worth the upgrade in my opinion. It's very comforting to know that this heater alone, will increase the life of my ski boots, because ski boots aren't cheap! The product packs down into a small and easily portable/storable size. Very impressed overall with this heater.

      Perfect Gift

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I bought these as a gift for an avid skier and the feedback I've been given is fantastic. I'm really glad I picked this one. So far, it has been used almost daily for the past 2 weeks. Seems like moderately damp boots dry completely and are fresh in just a quick couple of hours. Also very quiet. Can use also for a quick warm-up when you're getting ready to go out.

      Best Boot Dryer out there

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This boot dryer is an essential item to my ski kit. It does the job perfectly and is not loud like other brands. The model with the different timer settings is worth the upgrade. You can set the timer and you don't have to worry about forgetting to turn it off. I've had this model for several years and it's in perfect working condition. I travel everywhere with it too so it definitely takes a little bit of a beating and it's still in great condition.

      Essential item

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This boot dryer is super easy to use and works great FAST! Not too hot so it won't remold footbeds or custom liners. The timer function is an added bonus. If you're debating between the two versions I say get the timer for sure. It's nice to know you can set it and forget it and it will turn itself off. Also works well for gloves.

      Boot liner extender

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This heater is very compact and travels well. Does a great job of drying out boots. This combination is great for at home or on the road after a long day of touring. My liners will last so much longer.

Works, but "fragrance" is weird smelling

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Just got this item, and used it on 2 trips so far.

I was debating between this and the hotronics snapdry, which are similar in concept. The pivoting nature of the arms is why I picked this one.

It will put out slow stream of air that are just a little over body temp, so no worrying about overcooking your boots, and my not-too-wet ski-boots were dry using the 3hours timer.

One thing to note, the unit has a "fragrance" bar in there; which adds fragrance to "deodorize" your boots. The smell is not good, a little like weird housecleaner, and will prevade your room. The instructions do say that over time it will wear off, hopefully this occur sooner.

If it keeps working as it does right now, I'm happy with it.

But giving it 4stars, because although it's the premium model and expensive it's missing some things that other products have:

      wish list:

      -240v capability

      -nozzle tips for glove

      -disassembly/fit into your boots capability

-12v adapter to use in car.

      Just another update.

      1) took this to europe earlier last year. I used a 220->110 transformer was very good, but the therm-ic did not like power output from my transformer and it stopped working completely after about 2hours, electronics fried.

The fan was running faster and the light was flickering when in use.

But, after contacting the NorthAmerica distributor they sent me a replacement, so at least that worked out.

      2) So had an opportunity to take apart the old one to see how it works. The "UV" feature is just a UV led. This makes it a bit of a gimmick as this will not sterilize or kill viruses/bacteria.

      a) There does not exist an UV LED that kills organisms. UV needs to be a very specific wavelength to disrupt cells to disinfect, and UV LEDs are not right . If you look at any other product that actually disinfects, like a steripen, they use a bulb-based UV.

      b) The time the airflow has in the UV light (even if it were the right wavelength) is not enough to kill organisms.

So still 4stars, it's still a good boot dryer,

just be careful to use a very good 110v transformer if travelling or stop usage if it doesn't seem be be running right.

Be aware that the UV is a gimmick, and watch out for the strong "flavorbar" smell, expecially the first uses

      Unanswered Question

I’m looking for something that will heat up my boots in the car on our way to the mountains for the day (2-2.5 hour drive). Will this warm them up enough on the drive up?
