Not a chance. May abandon North Face forever.
Bought a pair of Paramount Convertible Pants 6 years ago and they were and still are wonderful. Had a need for a second pair and North Face indicated that these were the "updated" version. The pants fit and will work for an urban hip-hop hiker well. They were NOT made for the mountains. Belt won't stay cinched. Legs snag on every little thing. Don't even try to take of the lower leg part if your boots are muddy. You won't be able to. The old style had a zippered sleeve that opened up making this SO easy. North Face, appears to have decided that they'd rather concentrate on the hip-hop crowd and have mostly abandoned the Outdoors Adventurer crowd.

Great Pair of Hiking Pants
Great pants, dry quickly but are a slim fit pant, they are not loose fit.

Very Euro style...not my thing.
The material is tough and stretchy, but the moderate taper is too much. The picture used online are not representative how much taper there actually is. Wish there was an option for picking fit.

Amazing product. Stained easily, instantly
Comfy, light and trendy. I got some olive oil on them the first day!!! Stained for life. Spots. I dunno if the material is strange from it being plastic? But they stained the first day and won't come clean :(

Perfect Hiking Pant.
Perfect hiking pant, lightweight and breathable, yet built well and to last. Converting them is a breeze. Definitely getting more pairs.

I would not buy this product!
We ordered a men's size large. The pants were tagged as such but they were more of a women's size large. Sent them back and still waiting on refund.

Mixed feelings
Used this on over a dozen trips now and here are my overall thoughts: Overall fit -- 5 stars Fabric & construction -- 5 stars Built in belt -- 0 stars The belt is held in place by the friction the fabric being doubled over a metal buckle. It is constantly coming loose and needing to get re-tightened. Not easy to do when it is under the waist of my backpack. If I can find an after market replacement belt narrow enough to fit these pants, they will be one of my favorite pair. Until then, they are the pair that I grab when everything else is dirty.

Be very careful
Be very careful with washing them. Because I just throw mine in the washer not thinking nothing about it. The bottom part of the pants ripped. Rip. just use them as shorts now.
