    Live to play another day.

The whitewater icon against which all other helmets are measured, the Sweet Protection Strutter Helmet delivers low-volume protection for river running and playboating. It provides superior performance without skimping on style, and it's packed with plenty of comfort-enhancing features, too.

LFT shell technology combines nylon and long fiberglass to make the shell super-tough with a great balance of elasticity and rigidity, and Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer in the front of the helmet increases impact protection while maintaining a light weight. An EVA liner absorbs impacts without cracking, even in cold temperatures. Occigrip construction makes the helmet easily adjustable to provide a secure, yet comfortable fit that won't shift when you get tumbled in turbulent waters. Comfort pads provide a cushy feel and wick moisture, and the Strutter comes with two pad thicknesses so you can choose the one that's best for you.

    Best for your Dome

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Sweet Pro has been a long time fav of mine on the river. From their drysuits, to base layers, as well as all of the sweet protection they offer. This isn't my favorite helmet from them... I was a BIG fan of the old wanderer helmet, when it had the bigger bill/visor out front. But, since the redesign, the strutter has become my go to river lid. Buyer beware, sizing can be an issue, try on before you buy, or get really good measurements/ call a gearhead at Backcountry.com. Same goes for shades. I went through 4 pairs of sunglasses before i found a pair that didn't push to hard on my temples. Smith Captain's Choice seem to be the best so far.

    Know your sizing beforehand...

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

Helmet seems fine but Sweet has weird sizing, be sure to know beforehand because the return policy will cost $7 to ship back. Wish I had double checked return policy before losing money. I want to try another size but don't want to be out another $7.I will purchase from a purveyor that offers free exchanges and returns in the future. According to the sizing chart it should have fit so it wasn't a mistake on my end.
