My favorite base layer this winter
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- XL
- Height:
- 6' 3"
- Weight:
- 220
Thick, long in the arms, fits perfect, wicks away sweat from all day snowboarding. Maybe other people like it looser, but a base layer for me should be form fitting and this is perfect. I've worn it in -20F east coast windchill temps with just a light fleece and my insulated jacket for a day trip snowboarding. Was warm and comfortable all day. Definitely buying more Stoic baselayers, great value compared to the more expensive options

Thick but a bit long
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:
- M
- Height:

- Weight:

Like a lot of reviewers have said, the material is thick/heavy for a baselayer but it's actually exactly what I am looking for. I had an offbrand rashguard with this type of material and have been looking for more and finally found it. If you want something thinner (like nike rashguards), then it may not be for you. I love it so far, only downside is it's a little bit long, goes down to my mid thigh and I am 5'11 and bought a medium. But I guess it's perfect for tucking in.

Keeps warm but does not breath well

Bought the set, top and bottoms. Immediately noticed that they are much heavier than other base layers I have. They feel nice and keep warm under a shell but when you get moving and sweat, they keep the moisture in too much and you get cold very quickly. I'd wear them for easy and cold days where you spend a lot of time on a chair lift but not for backcountry tours where you get warm very quickly.

Great quality, silky smooth feel, fits true to size. Bought these because they were priced well but ended up being better than expected. Quality is top of the line. Warm and moisture wick I wear size shmedium, sometimes small sometimes medium, 5?7 on a good day and 145lbs, slim but athletic build. Bought the medium as a baselayer, but it was a little long in the arms and not quite as snug as I?d like, but I love it so I?m using it as a stand alone running shirt. I will order the small size for my baselayer. Love the bum cuffs

Great balance of weight and warmth

I'd call this material "midweight" - but it's breathable enough and very warm. It's also very fitted, which I like for a baselayer. It's a great replacement for a thin fleece, which is often still bulky, or the thinner wool "long underwear" most of us have. Will also note the back is quite long; I use this for winter biking and it covers me well.
