Why We Like The Simms Freestone Z Bootfoot

Simms' Freestone Z Bootfoot Waders provide a perfect, watertight set up for cold water wading and fly fishing. The Toray QuadraLam waterproofing has a great track record for durability while the TIZIP waterproof front zipper makes it easier to take a streamside whiz after our morning coffee or an exciting fight with runaway rainbow. With its built-in rubber boots, this version of the popular Freestone series keeps gravel and grime from sneaking into our feet and holds in more of our body heat—a big plus in winter.

Good fit

Ordered size 9 my normal size and they fit perfect. After I put them on the first time I could tell they would be hard to take off. First half dozen times I wore them I put a plastic shopping bag over each foot to make it easier to get them off. They have since loosened up alittle so no more shopping bags. So far great boots. Small interior pocket would have been nice.

Very nice waders.

These are my first new pair of waders in 22 years. They are made very well. The boot fits true to size , nice ankle support. My only complaint is that they are alittle hard getting off. The ankle area is alittle tight , I hope they loosen up with use.

Excellent quality

Bought them for my son who wears a size 8. He loves 5hem and says they fit perfectly. As all Simms products, they are well made.

Great for S. Louisiana and cheaper than most competitors.

The plain earth color seems to blend well with multiple habitats in multiple seasons in S. Louisiana. The boots are insulated enough that my feet were comfortable during my first hunt in sub freezing temps. The uninsulated upper is perfect as I can wear them during early teal or frogging season as they seem to breath well. I'm 5'10", 190lbs (32" waist) and wear 10.5-11 in shoes. The waders fit perfect. Zip chest and hand pockets are nice additions.

So far so good!

I had been waiting and watching reviews on these waders for the last few months before pulling the trigger on them. After hunting in them over the last few weeks in several different places, they have impressed me. The fit is perfect. I hunt 30-40 times a season, so these will be put to the test over the remainder of this season and next. Only thing I’ve found missing is D- loops. But I made my own using a ziiptie and it’s worked fine. I think these will contend with the likes of Chene and Sitka. And the warranty looks to be the same if not better.

Good Value

the uppers fit very well and are very comfortable! But the boot foot is tight. I've worn the Simms Extreme boot foot waders for years and a size 12 boot [ 11 shoe size] was roomy and fit well with a thicker winter sock. This new boot is smaller, so I am returning them for a 13 that will hopefully allow a bit more room. Generally, a very nice wader with excellent features

Thumbs up

These are like sitka or KUIU but a fraction of the price. I have only hunted in them twice but overall I really like them so far.

Great Solution to Cold Winter Wading

These bootfoots make winter wading so much WARMER, wish I'd made the switch earlier. There is a bit of warm air that doesn't get compressed or squeezed out by general water pressure, unlike your typical stockingfoots. And the convenience of the zipper speaks for itself. So you stay much more comfortable and can enjoy spey fishing longer in places like my winter favorite, the Mo!

Great product.

Bought these waders for fishing and duck hunting as I didn’t feel it necessary to own 2 separate waders for each occasion. Very comfortable, lightweight, easy to slip on with the zip and love the color for hunting purposes. So far they are holding up well and possess a great value for the price. The only thing I would like to possibly see would be a little more cushion and abrasive resistance in the knee area in the event you are kneeling down or something. Keep it up Simms
