F30 C Saddle

The F30 C Saddle is one of the newer saddles in the Selle SMP lineup and it provides the benefits of classic SMP designs in a more compact shape that doesn't have quite the exaggerated drop nose. Regardless, it still provides greater comfort while in the drops than conventional saddles and the ability to move about, finding a powerful position without excessive pressure. Another patented SMP feature is its ergonomic center channel that relieves compression in the perineal and prostate area helping to eliminate tingling and numbness. Additionally, nerves and the vascular regions are protected and the entire area enjoys increased blood flow and better ventilation.

The tail of the saddle receives a kicked up design for maximum pelvic support and better stabilization. This provides a better foundation when putting out the watts and a better position while climbing. Also of note at the rear of the saddle is its slight rear cutout that's there to protect the coccyx.

This particular saddle is covered in leather in the black version and microfiber for the white one. It receives a minimal amount of foamed elastomer padding covering a carbon reinforced nylon shell. The saddle rides on stainless steel AISI 304 rails offering a wide fore/aft range and great shock absorption.

  • A saddle for long-mile training and racing alike
  • Slightly wider than the many other SMP models
  • Features a compact shape for lightness and freedom of movement
  • Dropped nose and central channel alleviate pressure
  • Raised tail supports the pelvis into efficient pedaling position
  • Minimal padding focuses on comfort without bounciness
  • Steel rails and composite body ensure longevity

SMP for the Win

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I've been an avid SMP saddle user for quite some time. I find them to be the most comfortable saddles I have used to date. In the SMP line up I can ride a couple of the saddles and depending on the bike is how I choose which one. Century rides or Trainer = SMP Stratos Fat Bike = Stratos Enduro bike = Drakon Road Bike for crits = Drakon Now just recently I have been riding the Blaster and really love it, I feel that will be my new saddle for the road bike. The reason I have the Drakon as I wanted a saddle that would allow me to slide up a bit when going on break aways or get over the cranks a little more prepping for that big sprint and the Stratos was not allowing me to do that like I wanted. Now that I have the Blaster I feel that will be the new road saddle. Now onto the F30c, this saddle will fit a wide range of user based on the shape of the saddle, but for me I found it to be just a bit off and I could quite seem to locate that sweet spot. Why try it you ask, well that's a great question. I wanted it for riding my mountain bike. I felt every once in a while when hitting some steeper descents I would hit the tail of the Drakon when trying to get over the rear wheel on my Endruo bike. I felt the flatter profile would eliminate that issue. I'm giving it a 4 star review as it's a great saddle, it just didn't fit my seat bones. For Reference Cat 2 Road 5'9" 32" inseam 34" waist 175lbs

Hi Robert, can you tell me what your sit bones measure? I'm also considering this for mtn biking. I currently run the WTB Koda but am looking for something comparable with a cut out.
