Ultralight Sleeping Pad

When you're covering multiple miles a day on your backpacking trip, you need a comfortable sleeping surface to recover on, but you also don't want to be burdened with excess weight and bulk. Luckily, Sea To Summit has you covered with the Ultralight Sleeping Pad. This summer backpacking pad is ultralight (as the name suggests) and packs up extremely small for easy storage and carrying in your stuff-to-the-brim pack.

Air Sprung cells evenly distribute pressure so the pad conforms to your body for a comfier feel than traditional baffle construction. Tough nylon fabric won't get shredded when you're sleeping on rough, rocky surfaces. The multi-function valve has a one-way valve to make inflation easier, and it has a button you can press to slowly release air for fine-tuned comfort. When you have to pack up in a hurry, a rapid air dump port lets you deflate quickly. It also comes with a stuff sack for convenient storage and a repair kit so you can fix tears in the field when you accidentally slice your pad open while cutting avocados in your tent.

  • Ultralight and compact pad for summer backpacking trips
  • Air Sprung Cells minimize weight/bulk while maintaining comfort
  • Integrated Airstream Pump for easy inflation and deflation
  • Tough ripstop fabric withstands abrasion while keeping weight low
  • Liquid TPU lamination virtually eliminates delamination issues
  • Includes 6 self-adhesive repair patches and spare 1-way valve insert
  • Low R-value means this pad is for summer conditions only
  • Item #STS005N

Light and easy to inflate

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
True to size

First impressions: An ultra light, easy to inflate, comfortable mat. I bought the large version to get the extra width (I sleep on my side, so I need a bit more room for my legs). When it is inflated, the large mat is indeed large! I'm 5' 11' and my feet don't come remotely close to the end of the mat. And I have plenty of space to sprawl out. As with any really light mat I worry that it might puncture easily. But, it looks like it should be easy to repair with the provided puncture kit. All in all, a nice purchase. Highly recommended.

Thanks for this review Gerry! Glad the pad has been working so well for you.

Easy and fast inflation. Comfortable to sleep on and so small and lightweight. It fits easily in my backpack. Much thicker than my old pad too!

The 4th one I've purchased!

I've put it through the wringer

One for me, one for him, and two for friends. We're madly in love with these things - we're getting better, more comfortable sleep while taking up less pack space and weight. By an order of magnitude. No more rolled up pads that accomplish the same comfort as a yoga mat. Our only concern with these was how they might hold up to giant dog paws....initially we kept the dogs off of them while we did car camp trips, but at least a dozen backpacking trips later they've been no worse for the wear of two 85lb dogs stuffed in a 2person tent with us. Seriously. Get this. Get one for everyone you know. Even people who swear they're not sleeping on the ground anymore!

So many of us outdoor adventurers have our furry companions that love coming along too so always nice to hear a pad holding up against dog paws/nails.

And is this pad noisy when moving around? Some ultralight bags will wake up everybody in Camp if the sleeper rolls over.

What is the thickness of this pad when fully inflated? Also please explain what is an integrated Airstream pump?
