Great for shorter runs for me
I’ll start with the cons and say that despite having rather high arches and slim feet, if I run over 6 miles in these I get long blisters on the inside of my arch from the balls of my feet back about 2 inches. Aside from that I love everything else about these shoes. Cushion is great, traction great, toe box is very roomy…they’re actually pretty comfortable except for the friction issue on longer runs.

comfy running
super versatile trail shoe. lots of cushion for distance training or just plodding along. toe box is similar to the genesis in that it is a little wider of a fit. great because it will still be comfortable if your feet swell after many miles.

THUNDER DRAMA
I though I read good reviews on the THUNDERCROSS. So I got these about 4 weeks ago! I originally got a 5.5 size but these were too big, so went for a 5 instead. When I put them on they felt comfy and I thought ok, but after a week or so of wearing the shoe now they expanded dramatically, and I mean these shoes are enormous now and the lace dose not tie tight enough. Hard to show a picture as the shoe is wide inside. Unfortunately I am unable to wear them as they stretched widely and too big.

2nd pair
I bought the gore tex version for every day walking/hiking in the rainy PNW weather. My feet didn't get wet all winter. These have enough cushion for my bad knee, plenty of room in the toe, and solid treads for slippery trails. I bought the non gore tex version for dryer months. I have a medium width foot and was looking for something sturdy, besides Hokas with a bit of cushion, that's not so wide in the sole. For me, Salomon's fit better than any other brand and are of great quality. I'm counting on these to carry me well on spring hikes in the Azores! More review later maybe... Also would like to see more neutral colors in running shoes.

Perfect shoe...for me!
I have found the perfect hiking shoe for me. Perfect weight (not too heavy and not too light). Good deal of cushioning and super arch support. The width is just right. The two things I appreciate most of all is the stability the shoe provides and the 4mm drop. The stability has given me my confidence back since I don't have the balance that I used to have. The heel to toe drop is the exact height my back needs obviously. My previous hiking shoes had 10-12mm drop, and that is just too much for me. I've had zero drop shoes too, but that wasn't it. These are just right! I will only use for hiking and not trail running, but they have excellent grip. I have worn them on roots, leaves, wet rocks, etc., and they do not slip. After all these years trying many, many different shoes, I am perfectly pleased. I have nothing bad to say about these shoes.

Comfortable
Although they are comfortable I wouldn't consider them Ultra Plush! They are a bit on the firmer side. Solomans never disappoint tho! My feet love them

It is not your typical sizing
I bought Thundercross assuming that they will be the same size what my Speedcross -6.5. But they were not; they were way bigger and wider. So, account for the size if ordering on line. I returned them without any problem. This model is generally too wide for me; I went back to ordering Speedcross. Yes, 6.5 :)

Thundercross
The Thundercross is perfect for off trail running of hiking. Excellent for hard packed snow & muddy trail runs. Shoe offers a roomy toe box, good foot support & awesome traction.

Effortless traction
I just took my new Thundercrosses for a 13 mile trail run and I don’t have a single blister. The ride is smooth and traction is amazing! I ran through mud, over rocks and roots, climbs, descents, single track and more… and my feet flew. Without the worry of slipping or tripping, I reached a pace that normally I can’t get on mountain trails! Highly recommend. If I could name one critique of this shoe, it would be that I’d like a little more cushion in the heel cup, and a little higher drop. I may try out another Salomon for my next pair, but I will keep Thundercross in my collection for technical trail runs, especially in wet slippery conditions!

Happy about this new model
Thundercross is meeting my needs. I wanted a light, cushioned shoe for slippery fall conditions. More room in the tow box has been a plus too.
