Why We Like The Salomon Speedcross 6 GTX Trail Running Shoe

When we're laced into the Salomon Speedcross 6 GTX Trail Running Shoe, gray skies and water crossings don't drop our tempo. This iteration is lighter and feistier than its predecessor with a featherweight upper fighting off thorny brush and deep, sticky lugs locking into mud and loose dirt. Backed by a waterproof membrane, this pair removes all hesitation from our stride for confident and powerful transitions through every mile.

I am liking these shoes!

I purchased these as a lower, waterproof option hiking shoe. I do not run in these. I love the color. They were comfortable right out of the box. I hadn't purchased these with the weight in mind and was really shocked at how lightweight they are. I purchased my regular size. They are light, supportive, but give a good feel of the ground. This was a surprising bonus as I have reduced sensation in one foot due to an ankle injury and I tend to trip or react slowly to stepping on roots or rocks or adjusting to uneven terrain with that foot and between the lightness and the nice grip of this shoe, along with the enhanced feel of the ground, I am really feeling more nimble in this shoe. I did not experience a learning curve with the speed lacing, but if you don't like it, you can switch it out. Received them during a week of constant rain and they are waterproof. Perfect for wet dewey morning hikes . The single thing that I do not care for with this shoe is with the speedlace not running through the tongue, I need two hands to get the shoe on, because no matter how loose I make it, the tongue slides into the shoe when I put them on. I'm sure I can finagle a fix for this, but either having a stiffer material in the tongue, attaching the tongue closer to the opening or having the speed lace go through the tongue would resolve. Not a big deal at all but I'd reach for them as my go to shoe every time I walk out the door if I could just slip into them more easily.

Great product, needs consistent sizing

Love this show and have worn them, through each new phase, only catch, the sizing is not consistent. But fantastic show otherwise.

Great shoe

I bought this shoe a month ago. I wore it in the mountains hiking and it preformed very well. I love the quick laces, but wish there was a way to keep them looser on the forefoot and tighter for the heel. I’m not sure if that’s possible?? They fit just like the regular speedcross 6.

Great for my first Rgnar trail race

Purchased these specifically for my first Ragnar trail race. They gave me the traction needed on the trails, even in mud. I crossed several creeks and my feet stayed dry.

Super comfortable!

Good fitting out of the box. Nice design. I have narrow feet and they are slightly more wide that I need, but excellent so far.

Less sole support than my older pair

I prefer a stiffer sole for hiking and my last pair seem to have a little more arch support
