Decent hiking shoe
The shoes are comfortable, do well on wet surfaces. I use them almost every day to hike with my dogs. Works well on every terrain. They are a bit chunkier than my speedcross 5 but overall they are a good shoe.

Perfect-ion
I feel like Salomon took all of my favorite different components of other models and put them into this shoe to make my dreams come true. From the tread to the cushion to the upper I was happy from my first mile to my most recent mile in the Genesis. I have enjoyed these shoes making my way down pavement and dirt roads to my favorite trails and also on the most technical terrain Vermont has to offer. These are now my "go to" model.

Awesome trail shoes
I use the Genesis trail runners for trail walking and hiking and they’re great! Super comfy with no breaking in time. The sole is sturdy and supportive and the fit is great. The toe box is roomy but not too spacious. Highly recommend.

Baptism by fire
I am a bit fan of Salomon products and have been wearing them for the last 15 years. I always have at least 1 pair of their shoes. I purchased those shoes with a view that it will become my designated pair of hiking shoes. Last pair outer soles worn out and I started losing grip a bit. I did not plan for it, but the first time I wore those shoes was on a 15km hike with almost 1,000m elevation. The shoes were tight midfoot and had excellent grip. More than enough space for the toes and great toe to heel ratio with a perfect amount of cushioning. I was very pleased with them and absolutely fell in love with the color scheme.

Really aesthetic and functional outdoor shoe
I bought this for hiking and casual walking through a variety of state parks of various terrains. The shoes have a great grip for rocky terrain and extremely light. I think most impactful is how functional yet cute they are.

Plush Ride
I’ve taken the Genesis for a couple of long runs on our local trails and in the mountains, and so far they’ve held up well. I’m typically a speedcross wearer, but wanted to change things up. These did not disappoint. I did go up 1/2 size to give a bit more toe box room, but could have probably stuck to my regular speedcross size.

Overall, the best
I love these shoes! I've had them a few weeks now and have been out with them 5x's now. From the very first run I knew, finally, what a difference a good true trail running shoe makes and these are it. Rocky is definitely their strong point but I run in a lot of mixed terrain including fine dust/dirt, sandy trails and they still perform better than anything else I run in.

Very disappointed with this shoe
Been really looking forward to trying this shoe as always use Speedcross but wanted something a bit more cushioned. First couple of runs my big toes went numb at 3 mile and I can feel where the shoe creases across my toes! Don’t think they are very cushioned and also can feel a niggles in Achilles on right foot. Definitely not what I expected with this shoe. I had planned to use it for long ultras but they aren’t comfortable enough to do that! Very disappointed in this shoe.

sturdy rock hopper
Sturdy shoe with great grip on rocky terrain. Quick laces are awesome. Shoe fits a little wider in the toe box - if you're looking for a tighter fit, maybe size down by 1/2 size.
