Where lightweight and performance collide.
Weighing less than two pounds, the Rab Neutrino Endurance 400 25-Degree Down Sleeping Bag is perfect for three-season alpinists, mountaineers, and backpackers looking to shave weight and sleep like a warm and cozy log. Rab teamed up with Nikwax to develop a hydrophobic treatment to protect the 800-fill goose down insulation from tent condensation or exposure to rain. Pertex Endurance fabric provides the shell, inner hood, and draft collar with windproof and highly water-resistant protection, while the Pertex Quantum lining resists abrasion and keeps the down as lofty as can be for a long time. Better yet, both fabrics are treated with water-repellent DWR treatments to provide an extra barrier between your insulation and soggy mountain weather.
The Neutrino Endurance has a tapered mummy shape in order to cut back on weight and size for space-conscious adventurers, but it is also available in an extra-long cut if you're on the ganglier side. It features an adjustable hood and draft collar and comes with the zipper on either the left or right side for your convenience. Rab also included a zippered internal stash pocket for a small midnight snack, a Polygiene Stay Fresh antimicrobial treatment, and a dry bag compression sack to keep the bag warm and lofty when you're caught in a rainstorm on the way to camp.

- Q & A
not quite what was promised
- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
I stuffed the Neutrino sleeping bag in it's sack and weighed it on my very exact baking scale. It weighs 2lbs 3 oz. To compare, I also weighed the Patagonia Down 850 sleeping bag which came in at 1lb 11oz in it's stuff sack. Returning the Neutrino and keeping the Patagonia. The Neutrino is beautifully constructed but the excess weight is quite visible. It's more roomy than needed, and the cords are heavy weight material.
Hand Filled in Derbyshire
Sleeping bags are firmly where we started and they remain a core part of our range to this day. Back in the 1970's when Rab Carrington was making sleeping bags in Patagonia, he probably didn't imagine that 40 years later sleeping bags with his name on them would be used all over the world in some of the most beautiful yet hostile environments.
To this day, we hand-fill our down insulated sleeping bags at our factory in Derbyshire, UK. This allows us to know for definite that, by the time our bags reach our customers, they have never been compressed or stored in a way which could be harmful for the down inside. By filling the bags in house, we can be completely sure that every down sleeping bag that leaves our factory will arrive to our customers in the best possible condition.
