Tail clip is a problem

There are some things I do like about these skins - the weight, the feel and the ease at which you can pull skins off of your skis. However, all of the positives don't outweigh a big negative for me, which has been very frustrating. Every time I've used them - every time, multiple times per outing - the plastic clip on the tail comes off of my ski. I understand this is probably because the tails of my backcountry skis are round, and don't have a notch-shaped tail for the clips to stay in place, but for the price of these skins, I don't know why there wouldn't be a more reliable bar option if desired for the tails of your skins to stay in place. The front feels super secure, and I've had skins in the past that have bars that go across both the tips and tails. I've also adjusted the back clip per the instructions and tested out other levels, and still not had any luck. Overall, I was super stoked to get new gear for the backcountry this season, and I'm planning on finding a different pair of skins for next season.

Light, packable and great glide.
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
These skins have great grip, and are lighter weight than a full synthetic. They glide really nicely. My favorite feature is how packable they are, the skin is not nearly as rigid as the black diamond ascension skins. They also resist glopping better than the black diamond ascension.

It pays to spend a few extra dollars and get an 100% mohair skin like these Pomoca Climb Pros. I love the glide and grip that these offer over synthetic and blended skins, especially with Pomoca's superior hardware and glue (that somehow sticks to your ski, but rips easily). While synthetic options will be more durable, I've toured heavily on some Climb Pros for two seasons and have yet to notice anything other than normal wear and tear. While I'd set my skis up with any of Pomoca's skins, the Climb Pro's are always my top pick when I'm getting a new pair of touring skis set up. With the included skin trimming tool, you can have these ready to tour within minutes of them arriving.
